General Petraeus is not attempting to restrict the freedom of the Dove World Outreach Center to do any stupid hateful thing that it wants to do; he is exercising his own freedom to inform the Center that this action may endanger the lives of his troops and that it does provide aid to our enemies.

Insulting our enemies does not provide them aid. It merely draws them out into the open.

What does General Petraeus value more, our freedoms or his career? He could save his men's lives by refusing the President's asinine orders and sacrifice his own career to get them out of Afghanistan.

Instead he insists on telling the American people what they can or cannot do.

If radicals in other countries have issues with it, why would I give a damn? They do not understand our constitution, and I don't expect them to.

Your defense of the constitution is noble and will no doubt, ease the pain of the families of the soldiers who have to deal with it.

Is this a massive display of ignorance, or merely partisan trolling?

So get the soldiers out of there? You cannot "win" in Afghanistan anyway.

I hope you were against the Wikileaks document release a few weeks back. Countless Afghanis/Pakistanis were put into harms way.

I'm going to guess you were against them being released. And yet here you are defending the book burning.

How many American flags have been burned in the Middle East by non-radical Muslims? but I guess no one here would find that offensive in fear of being labeled a bigot...

I think these flags symbolized something, I just can't remember what...

edit: I think burning these books is a stupid idea...just because they can doesn't mean they should....

Book burning is protected and legal in this country.

Releasing classified documents is not legal. In fact, the soldier is being prosecuted for it.

I know these are very subtle differences.

I think the documents could of waited a few years to be released. I also think it's important for people to really know how much the .mil will lie about events that happen.

I'm glad your only supporting the book burning because its your right, and not because you hold any ill feelings to Muslims.
It's too bad so many people will suffer because of both actions.

Not at all. He didn't say "you can't do that".

A bunch of nitwits decide they are going have a burning in the name of Christ, which will inflame a bunch of losers overseas who we can have a reasonable expectation of bombing our guys because of this nonsense and he's telling them how it is.

If someone is offended because the General doesn't want even more death than has been dealt out, too bad. He can't force intelligence on people, but he can call them on their thoughtlessness.

Myth. Most bombers and terrorists are very wealthy and educated. Read up on Al queta or the 19 or some other martyrdom operators. Some have been physicians, some millionaires, some engineers, MBA's etc.

You are very dilusional...the average muslim is not wealthy or educated...
Just like Christians and just like Jews and any other religious group there are those who have wealth and those who are engineers and doctors and lawyers....

All we have to do is place hyphen after the "K" in your name and add an "s" somewhere and we have a graphic depiction of your thought process!!

I don't have a problem with the general's motivations, and it's not like he's going to declare martial law in the US to stop this from happening, but for him to even make a statement on the issue is really outside of his mandate. To me it would be the same as a general saying that anti-war rallies in the US are putting soldiers' lives at risk. What's really putting soldiers at risk is that fact that people overseas are willing to kill them because someone burned a book.

Much like what muslims are doing at twin tower site . Its legal but thoughtless . Plus To many Americans would rather die than have that building go up . It will never be built.

Burning the Koran serves no purpose except to incite new violence toward the US. I can only hope no one overseas or here gets hurt/killed b/c of it.

When I read Nemesis, I generally see incoherence, not malice.

That big black stupid ass rock they worship . I would like to blow it up so long as no humans die. I would even be human explosive if I could get at it I would do it. I have nothing to lose when death stares ya in the face staring back at it is easy. Same applies to the vaticant and the wall the jews love so much.

He seemed like a nice guy, quiet, kept to himself, I would never of suspected this from him.

Ya, I'm mostly just kidding around..mostly
