It took me this long to finally come to terms that the Matrix, as a trilogy sucked. I'm a huge Matrix 1 fan and was looking forward to the sequels. I sat in the theater opening day of each of them saying to my self, "please don't suck, please don't suck, prove all the SW and LOTR fanboys wrong.... <2 hours later>... sh!t".

The first one will always be the best, it's still my favorite movie of all time. Reloaded and Revolutions were also good movies, but the storyline (in terms of a worthy trilogy) was weak. Reloaded was simply a buffer, something to take up time. Revolutions and Reloaded did not live up to the hype or the greatness of Matrix 1.

:(

I loved The Matrix. And I really liked Reloaded, especially how it raised a number of questions (as a Part 2 should)... But Revolutions was such a mess that it made Reloaded completely pointless.

I didn't think of it that way... Revolutions made Reloaded suck... so true.

ive said it before and ill say it again... i wish i never saw the latter 2. it now kind of ruins the original for me, knowing how it ends, and how weak it is. but i just tell myself there is only 1 matrix movie, the original, and to still leave the original ending open-ended in my mind for interpretation. i was all hyped for the 2nd one, let down. before the 3rd one, got all hyped again. even told my friends, 'nah man, this is the war, its going to be good! neo and smith will close the chapter, it'll be great!'. NOPE! big fat disappointment burger with cheese. :sigh;

I kind of thought Revolutions was sort of like,

"Let's do anything, it doesn't matter if it doesn't make any sense. Throw some cool FX in there and people will eat it up."

I was disappointed with the cheesiness of Revolutions' ending, but other than that I think the trilogy was one of the best sci-fi trilogies ever and I would definitely watch any (and all) of the matrix movies again. Speaking of which... Has anyone heard of any plans by WB (or whoever) to release the trilogy as a boxed set any time soon? Can't wait for that :)

Me too.. Exactly my opinion.

I saw #2 in the theatre, and wouldn't waste my money to see the third. I might Netflix it, if everything else is on LONG WAIT....

I saw Revolutions in Imax so it was an experience. I'd definitely do it again, hopefully a better flick the next time.

I enjoyed them too, but after the second movie I put too much faith in the third movie completing the saga only to be let down.

I think they should have let Matrix alone. It was a movie that didn't need a sequel. But, they did and although I can tolerate the second movie and do have it on DVD I do not hold it in as high regard as the original. I never even bothered to see the last one. I'll catch it on video someday...maybe. I have no idea how it ends but from what I've heard over the past months I'm not so sure if I should even bother and let the orginal stay in my mind in it's pure, uncorrupted form. :p
