Let this be a lesson to all of you...

Don't pop keys off your laptop keyboard, especially if you have a Dell Inspiron 4000. They are not attached like regular keyboard keys and cannot be easily popped back on.

My boss's thinkpad had to go to the shop and have the entire keyboard replaced. He popped off 4 keys and I couldn't get them on at all. Sent it to the repair shop and they said "new keyboard".

I popped the ~/' key off just in case I couldn't get it back on since I don't need that key very often. I have it kinda halfway back on now, I'm just gonna leave it and see what happens.

Dude, just figure it out...

a few keys popped off my mom's Dell 4000 whatever laptop.. took me about 10 minutes to figure out how they go back on - but they do.

BTW, don't buy DELL laptops. They're el-cheapo.

Did they have the little cheap plastic scissor-attachment things? How did you get the key back on?
