I thought Intel said they would sell the 9450 at the same price as the 6600?

A few places have posted pre-order links, estmating the last week of March. Roughly US$350 for sale prices, so it'll take a while for them to drop down to Q6600 prices and truly replace them in the market.

No, I believe the Q9300 is supposed to take the current pricing spot of the Q6600 at around $266. The Q6600 is supposed to officially drop in price in April to $225.
I also heard this as well. The Q6600's are suposed to drop in price in april.

I'm looking to go with DFI again for my next build (ie. 9450), I've had it with Asus, and my Gigabyte experience has only been so-so.
If you're willing to spend ~$255 for that Gigabyte X38 board, why not look at this other DFI board as well ...link ?

extra bandwidth currenty un-used by graphics cards but, exists for the same reason we now use PCIe x16 over AGP.

Midnight Rambler, you said you had a so-so experience with Gigabyte -- can you elaborate?
unless you need the extra 2 SATA connectors or you're an extreme audiophile there is no real point to getting the LT over the DK
I would doubt that; the current DK line is generally slightly inferior overall, 4 phase PWM (vs. 8 of the LT) 4 layer PCB vs. 6 (at least on the DK vs. LT P35).Originally posted by: DerwenArtos12

Last I heard the LT's were getting phased out, atleast on the P35 line, in favor of the DK and once the x48 is hard launched I'm sure the LT x38 will go to phase out in favor of the DK.

Shopblt has raised their pricing and are now on par with Tankguys (both $359).
As for that availability info, it just appears that they are linking to Ingram Micro's system for info. Based on how the E8400 went at lauch, e-tailers that use Ingram Micro for their drop shipping didn't fare too well. BUY.CON took forever to get E8400's and they no doubt have top priority with Ingram.![]()
We aren't using Ingram though
I've got chips shipping directly from the Intel plant in Malaysia.
