My MX700 tracks as well as any corded mouse I've ever used.

Mess with the settings. It makes it near perfect.

I'd say my MX700 is as good as the dual optical Logitech mouse I had before it. I play FPS all day long with this mouse without any trouble.

MX300! Best corded mouse i've ever used. I've used that crappy wireless one that came with the regular cordless combo, biggest POS ever!

My MX700 works perfectly. On a regular mouse pad it's a POS though, the Ratpadz does an excellent job of letting the mouse glide. I can't stand the 700 on my friend's computer because it's so slow...

i'll go with mousepad/surface problems.

but i would never buy a cordless mouse again. every month I have to replace the batteries, and that can get very expensive.

The MX700 comes with rechargeables that charge in its cradle. No fuss, no muss.

As to the surface comment, that might be, i'm on a wood grain desk, no mouse pad, but again, no mouse pad for corded OR Mx700.

actually, you just extract them from the .exe using winrar and update them using device manager, then you get the enhanced dpi without the problems that mouseware gives you:)

Could be the wood grain desk. I remember having trouble with my corded intellimouse optical on a wood grain finish also...

again, it could be the wood grain desk, but my corded mouse works a LOT better on it than my cordless so my complaint remains the same, given a specific surface the corded seems better than the mx700
