Doesn't make using a gun any more justifiable. It just means they lack the ability to defeat it in combat, and they're getting paid by the government to be wusses. As for those the animal killed already -- I guess they should have learned how to defend themselves a little better.
That is just silly... humans can't LEARN to defend themselves against a man eating tiger without a gun.
You see, evolution gifted a tiger with claws, large teeth, speedy form, and hunting instincts. It gifted us with the brain to build a gun and shoot it dead.
Predation is a daily threat to people in africa, and I don't know about you but it looked like africa to me...
in fact, the clothes some of them wore reminded me of those I have seen before worn by rangers of conservations in kenya I think, whose job is:
1. Hunt man eaters.
2. Protect animals from human poachers. With whom they often get into firefights.
3. Educate locals about conservation and the protection of animals, especially elephants and gorillas.
But all that is ancillary. even if those were just sports hunters I wouldn't wish death upon them for hunting a non sentient animal.
