Well i think his act in Blood Diamond was character personified(open for comments). i am little sad that he lost out on winning an oscar today but his performance in Blood Diamond is worth the recognition. The change in accent to change of Body Language in Blood Diamond is just perfect and fits into the role so well and to mention, i am not a big fan of him but after seeing his performance in Blood Diamond i have become one

I concur. I was always hesitant to like him because of his pretty-boy image (stemming from Titanic), but I realized I've enjoyed his acting in every movie I've seen him in.

I'm in the same boat, at first I didn't like him due to Titanic, and the Man in the Iron Mask. The I decided to watch Catch Me if You Can because of Tom Hanks, and didn't mind Leo then. Then saw aviator and thought "hmmm he's not so bad." In Departed I finally let go of my previous stigma and acknowledge him as a good actor. I have rewatched those other two movies since and I should have realized it sooner.
 
leo is great... if you've read any interviews he'd done he states his love for film... good film. he's one of those actors i'm sure we'll see 30 years down the line making quality films. :up:

He was excellent in What's Eating Gilbert Grape and as Howard Hughes as well.

I was a fan of Matt Damon over DiCaprio until I saw Departed, which Damon simply recycles his 'go F yourself' southie character from Good Will Hunting - very disappointing. DiCaprio is a damn good actor who has a helluva lot of range in his skills.
