Granted this is speculation based on rumors, but the mid range cards get hosed if this part is true.

Nvidia Kepler GTX650Ti

850MHz Core clock
1.75 GB 5.5GHz GDDR5 Memory
448 Stream Processors
224bit Bus Width
Priced at $249
Performance similar to GTX570

Nvidia Kepler GTX650

900MHz Core clock
1.5 GB 5.5GHz GDDR5 Memory
256 Stream Processors
192bit Bus Width
Priced at $179
Performance similar to GTX560

Both of those are a rip-off at the performance levels. A 570 could be had for sub-300 (sales etc.) almost continuously for a long time. The zotac model in particular has been on the hot deals page for months around $250-270.

Then the 560 levels still cost almost $200, assuming the better that it means 560 ti, there are always sub-$200 gtx 560 ti's regularly.

If the "benefit" being touted is power savings that's just a joke.

The gtx560ti was 50% faster than a gtx285, then I'm still expecting GK104 to be at least a little bit faster than the gtx580.

Well, if there will be a GK104 variant that delivers GTX 580 performance and if it'll be priced under $300, then I may have found my next video card.

Unless all these rumors are FUBARED.
