Lenovo CEO spreads his bonus to lower level workers

Awesome, but it's easy to do such thing when you're already making bank.

It's like a low wage worker spreading his $500 bonus to 10 kids.

It doesn't even matter if it's easy to do. The workers will appreciate it, even if it isn't a lot, and the goodwill generated is worth a lot. See it's funny because I understand what's happening here but I can't help but feel whatever deep seated opinions I may have held about Lenovo changing at this very moment. 😉

it really is amazing how simply making your employees feel just a little bit more appreciated than normal can do so much for your employees.

If it was so easy to part with the money, more CEO's would do it. I am pretty sure that the amount of money he is making does not make 3mill the equivalent to $500 of a wage worker. Most CEO's make a good amount of money, but most of their wealth comes from bonuses.

This guy is certainly not hurting from giving up the bonus, but you can't tell me giving up 3 million is "easy".

iirc the CEO's of Chinese companies make peanuts compared to what American CEO's make. In fact German and French CEO's also make peanuts compared to what American CEO's make.

Aw, who am I kidding? American CEO's make tons and tons and tons more money than CEO's anywhere in the world. Which is why America is doing so great.
:'(

500 dollars goes a long way, especially to someone who was never entitled to it in the first place. You know your budget and you see your bills, so trust me, 500 dollars coming out of nowhere is a true gift.

We can only hope.

When a CEO making say, 1 million a year has a company that made 50 million in profit and is promised a 10 million dollar bonus if the company makes 100 million dollars the next year will do anything to make that profit. That usually results in things like layoffs, product qualtiy deterioration, lack of investment in research or replacing equipment, etc. That kills the company long term. And that is what is happening in America. When a CEO can become rich by making a short term profit for his company at any cost he will do things that harm the company in the long term.

Smoke and mirrors. This is all marketing.

Board meeting commencement.

Chairman: I propose we award CEO $10 million.

Board member: Hey, did you read about the CEO who gave his bonus to his employees?

Chairman: Are you cra-

Board member: Let me finish. I'm no fool (CEO ain't either). But loliberals and the MSM are fools. Let's bump CEO bonus to $20 million, call it an "extra" $10 million bonus for job well done. And then...wait for it...wait for iiiiit...let's have him "forgo" his "extra" bonus and "give" it to his employees!!

Chairman: You're a genius! Let's vote.

Approved.

Loliberals: See this is a great company! What a great guy!
MSM: I want to give this CEO a bj!

Wow. If $3M was his bonus, what does his regular pay look like?

Something's trickling down from them. But it's definitely not money.

Man some of you guys are stupid and oblivious.

Salary: $1M
Bonus: $5M
Stock comp: $7.75M
Other comp: $224K

"Extra fake bonus to distribute to employees": $3M

LOLiberal hook line and sinker: Priceless

I really wouldn't mind if more companies started doing this "smoke and mirrors". doesn't matter what the intention was, the company as a whole still distributed a bonus (which is a lot of money in china), and that's a good thing.

You guys are forgetting that the distributed amount is equivalent to a whole month's salary. This is China we're taking about here.

Using your logic, companies should cut future pay and use the difference to make up as a "bonus" and issue PR about it every year.

His compensation is in line to many CEOs in S&P 500.

And what exactly is "fake" about the 3M distribution to employees? If someone gave you an extra $300 would you say it's fake?

I did not think that you have this sad, sad and cynical view about life. Goes to show that you can't be sure about anything...

Doubt it happened like that.... CEOs get yearly bonus in fixed amounts based on how much they meet or exceed targets.

Is that really how much he made? I don't see a link, just some numbers posted.
