Water's cheap.

not everywhere

And wont be once they mass produce cars to run on it, then water will be 15 billion a gallon, and you will be fined for capturing rain water and filtering it to run in your car, it be like back in prohibition with the feds busting open water barrels in the streets, and we have speak easies in bars so you can fill your car to get home. Tap water will be banned and forced to take a steam shower to get cleaned like washers are now doing, because water will be rationed to your house for just enough to get a shower, do some dishes, and a few gallons to drink, other then that you cant get any more water for the feds will have it all set up so they can make money off what the world produces for free so you can run it in your car.

Id be anything this is why we dont have cars that run on water mass produced, they are still figuring out a way they can screw up so that we have to pay for it.

But on a real note, it all depends on what your given for your $35~ a month bill, and then read your bill statement for it will tell you how much it is per gallon if you go over your monthly quota.

Then go turn your sprinkler on, and watch how much on the meter goes for 5 minutes, then x that by 12 for there are 12 5 minutes spots per hour, then times that x 12 hours, to give you how many gallons you wasted in the 12 hours stretch you left it on, then x that by how much the water company charges you when you go over your quota, and add that to your normal bill, and there is your answer 😉

Not much. Dont know the US water prices but maybe $30-50?

His entire water bill probably isn't 30$.. Unless it includes sewage.

With a 1/2" hose at 40PSI, it will flow 8650 gallons in 12 hours.

However, the sprinkler probably presents considerable resistance, so it should be considerably less than this.

But, assuming it is..

At our water prices of 0.0025/gallon, it would cost you 21$.

That's worst case scenario. I doubt you put 8,000 gallons into your lawn. Find me what sprinkler you have and maybe I can figure it out. 😉

Where in the hell do you live that this would happen?

And there's those pesky laws of physics that get in the way of having water-powered cars.😉

My quarterly water bill is usually about $50.
It's not all mine though. I share a building with a small deli/general store. The rent is reasonably low for the kind of building it is. It's rented as a 2BR apartment, but it's effectively like renting a small house.
The water bill is charged for the entire building, and I pay half of it.

I just looked through my checkbook. My portion of the quarterly bill thus far has fluctuated between $15 and $65.

Why stress and worry about it?

It happened, you have no way in hell to change it, so just accept it and move on.

Thats what they want you to believe 🙂
Now I will be right back I need to make a new tinfoil hat, and some of it is fall off my windows I need to put back up.

We don't have water meters here, (not yet, but they're coming) but in this town, you'd get a "water waster" ticket. First offense is $50, and each subsequent offense gets more and more expensive.

actually i remember reading a news article where a guy got fined for capturing rain water to use.The reason was that eh area he lived in had a contract to buy water from someone. so what he did was against the contrac.t

been trying to find the darn article but cant

It shouldn't be that bad. My calculation base on plastic pipe standard of 8 f/s equate to 3524 gallons or $8.81 (at $0.0025 gal); not include friction lost, fittings & sprinkler head flow restriction.

It just shown that you wasted enough water for 1 person in a month in the US (3000 gal/mo per person doesn't include lawn/garden watering or car washing).

Here in my area the real cost is the $150.00 fine for each first & second offense, then it go to $500.00
