I love the internet. I am now a tool for not preferring Led Zeppelin over other options of aural stimulation. How dare I.

Still better than 99% of the music today.

Wait....

and they haven't played together in how long?

60 years olds at Stones concerts are probably saying the same thing about Zep.

FWIW, I never found Zeppelin to be anything special, and the Stones are obviously senile at this point (except Keith Richards - he's dead), so I just find geriatric rock bands reuniting funny period.

How old are you?

24. I'll just take this time to remind you that if you break out with some "it's a generational thing", you'll just be proving my point.

I'd rather listen to bootleg versions of "geriatric rock band reunions" than professional recorded music of today's bands.

Me too. That said, I vastly prefer other bands from the 60s and 70s. But, to each his own.

I'm 20.. and I like Zep better than a lot of bands out today, that's for sure. Hell, the best rock music today tends to be music that draws obvious influence from bands like Zep and Floyd and the other bands of the time.

i think you wee a tool because it sounded like you didn't like zeppelin simply because they are old. If that is the case, i would agree, if you don't like them for a legit reason, thats fine with me.

I don't like Zeppelin because their music does not have the same effect on me that other music I like more does. How articulate that more precisely, I'm not sure. I guess it would go something like this:

I prefer other stuff.

And plenty of it is from the same time period. Hendrix and The Guess Who are probably in my Top 5 All Time.

I was trying to pre-empt a drawn out, OT arguscussion, which we ironically seem to be in now all the same. God knows I've been on the internet long enough I should probably know better by now.

All you read and

Hear on tv
Is a product
Begging for your

Dollar

So...shut up and

Buy new record
Send more money
Fuck you, buddy.

These people gave us the type of music that we all wanted to play. I will-along with millions of others- be waiting in line.

I don't think this is about money either (Well..for Jones it might be :) ). Page is one of the richest entertainers in the world, and Plant isn't too shabby either.

Who cares about them, they're only a glorified cover band!

Most of us don't care. I'd love to see them.

If I hear something and my head starts banging...I don't really care where it came from. There's just something about the WAY they play that gets me going.

My roommate just hung up a Bonaroo poster and claimed that Zeppelin is going to be there this summer....

With a little Google search.....

Is it true? :D :D

That's just ATOT. If you say you like something, someone will see it and say "We can't have that!", so they'll have to bring you down.

I agree. Peter Grant really was shrewd manager and did a great job of letting zep keep a large portion of the money from records and concert sales.

I think it was 74 or 75 when I saw them live, a little math will show that it's very likely I'm over twelve. (Hint, I drove to the concert).

Also there is nothing wrong with making money at what you enjoy doing. The 'purists' are quick to yell SELL OUT, but what happens in reality is they simply cannot afford the ticket prices.

Also everyone in the world would be doing something different if they didn't rely on what they did do to pay them. Most pick the best paying route rather than the most fun.

Talks always happen :) it's whether or not there is enough in the pot for all parties to be happy (whether it be money, ad space, accommodations, etc).

I don't see Led Zeppelin doing more than a handful of dates at a time. They need some time to get used to touring even if they decide too.
