That's not how the MVP has been awarded for the last.... ever? LeBron is the best player in the NBA right now and his numbers back that up. He's better than Kobe and Wade by a wide margin. He deserves the NBA's MVP, which doesn't go to the most valuable player, but to the best (or usually the flashiest). There have been exceptions, but most people assume that MVP = best player, not most valuable to his team.

Plus, as good as Wade has been this season, he only really turned it on 1/2 way through. LeBron has been putting up monster numbers since the opening tip.

the term MVP is a misnomer. they should just call it best player in the league, which i agree is lebron.

100% agree. As for LeBron v. Wade for a true MVP, I'm not so sure.

#1 Kobe lost last year.

How bout how many times has the MVP not even made it to the finals... this has happened quite a lot.

Eh, LeBroom is much more selfish than Kobe - Kobe's "me me" mode isn't that frequent anymore. He has a tendency to trust Gasol & Fischer more.

Haha, well now it's more like "okay first and second quarter, I'm going to let these guys get their numbers. If we need a buffer zone I'll step it up in the third and get my shots. As long as we got double digits going into the 4th, I can take it easy."

The problem is, when the Lakers get behind, all of a sudden Kobe goes into "man I gotta bring them back". Instead, he should rally them and say "first off, lock down on D, second, we'll keep running our offense".

The triangle works. Phil and Jordan proved that. Getting behind is no big deal, but Kobe will sometimes feel he has to carry the entire team.

LeBroom does that quite a bit actually ...

wade is far more valuable to his team than lbj is to the cavs.

Well, being that it's the "league" MVP award, who has been more important to the league this year than LeBron?

As far as Kobe being better than LBJ... I don't think so anymore. If you look at what happened in the playoffs last year against Boston, LBJ nearly led the Cavs to victory despite not shooting well until the last couple of games. He contributed mightily with rebounds and assists. Kobe, OTOH, didn't help his team out when he had trouble scoring.

that depends on how you define valuable? i go by wins.
cavs are a .500 team without LBJ.
heat barely win 15 games.

Rockette's suck ass ... so fuckin tired of them having a 7'6" center who is NOT their main scoring option, and having Artest keep shooting when he's 4/29.

Roll indeed.

The Lakers lost not because Kobe could not score, but because they weren't tough enough. They were pansies compared to the Celtics.

The Celtics played with a rage the entire series (and you could say for the entire year) that the Lakers could not just pull out of their pocket.

Bynum's presence helps this year, but I'd like to see them push the pedal to the floor the entire game. We like to get up by double digits and coast. Very uncharacteristic of a team that wants to win a title.

Yeah man, you have a 7'6" center who can shoot from midrange, post up and score, kick it to the open man, AND make free throws!!! And what do you do? Run high screens for Artest up top and let him take shots he's not making.

But I digress. As a Laker fan, this is exactly what I want them to do. :p

Oh yeah they're going to be riding up and down Main street with the trophy held up high in total victory, ticker tape parade and the poor Cavs and Lakers will need to be sweeping up the street after they get out of the medical center for choking on Yao's jock strap. :D

I'm a Spurs fan, but I live in Houston - I'm tired of all the bandwagon fans trying to talk shit to me, yet it's like a fucking PARTY because they made it out of the first round for the first time in 12 years. I honestly hope that Houston loses every single one of it's sports teams because nobody here gives a shit until the teams make it into the finals.

Well they all played bad defense, but you're right. Kobe did not act like a leader and did not emphasize to his teammates that beating Boston meant playing good defense.

Of course, when they win the title this year, all the Boston fans are going to say "it doesn't count cuz you never beat us".

LOL. Sounds like a fanboi to me :p I like how you made excuses for last year's demise. "They didn't have no heart". No you got beat by a better team.

LBJ got it, he deserved it.

They're completely different continents. Period. If you were a true fan of the team, you'd know those kinds of things.
