What in the world do you think Lebron will do if his team lets him down in the playoffs 2 or 3 more times?

This year it was storm off the court......I can see it getting worse.

Kobe tried hard to get traded after working to ditch Shaq and frustrating Phil Jackson to the point he resigned.

Kobe tried to get Bynum dumped, rather than helping to develop him. Last year, Kobe admitted that Bynum has a lot of talent.

Kobe signed a contract. He should have been a man and dealt with it.

Kobe should have never trashed Bynum publicly like that.

All I am saying is that it is too early to judge the media-darling that is "King" James compared to other super-star divas. As of now, all this signs are pointing to him being the same or getting worse.

'One sign' recently, yes, but "all signs"...that's myopic and complete bs imo.

Not wanting to honor a the full term of a max contract while in a situation that has gone sour is overrated and overstated as a suggested 'lack of integrity'. Its part of professional sports/relationships. Let's not forget almost everyone says at some point 'til death do us part' and those relationships usually don't last close to one's commitment.

Not being willing to play for a team until a contract is renegotiated, now usually that's another story....

The difference with Kobe is that he basically created the bed he was laying in. Kobe's actions directly led to the Lakers demise as a contender for a few years.

Stealing KG's powder toss, which was already just attention-whoring garbage.

Those fake camera-poses with his team before the game were about as childish as it gets.

They're blind nutthuggers. One told me yesterday that Kobe is playing right now while Shaq is sitting at home. I guess the ring Shaq already has is nothing lol.

Shaq sees that and wants to go up to Kobe and say: "have you seen my four championship rings?"

Kobe and Shaq didn't get along well, so what. They knew how to play together yet their ship was already sinking, along with Shaq's points. He still was shooting a high % but he's never been much more than a dunker and when he couldn't get to the basket as much, his productivity tanked.

Better to be a contender for several years than to be a contender for just one year.

meh... it's not too bad. looks like he's trying to have fun with the team and the crowd.
still really stupid and childish. i think he'll realize that when he gets older.

Petty, maybe, but that's not near the terms that Kobe haters have used over the years. James is a prankster and has no problem getting theatrical at time... that's the way he's always been..

It's better to have one ring and never be a contender again than be a condender every year until you retire without winning a ring. I hope Kobe makes it to very last game of the finals every year until he retires only to lose. Shaq has a ring, so he would probably argue with your statement. Being a conderder doesn't mean shit if you don't win the championship. Lakers are unable to win when it matters, and in the end that's all that matters.

I think you're missing my point a little bit. Kobe (allegedly) said something like, "either Shaq goes, or I go" to Lakers brass. Kobe then behaved so poorly on the court that HoF coach Phil Jackson resigned rather than deal with it. Fast forward a couple of years, Lakers trying to rebuild around Kobe, Kobe says "trade me".

That is very much open to debate.

As a fan, I'd rather have my team contending for a decade, than winning once and having the other 9 years be mediocre.

Actually, it's pretty stupid. Detroit's dancing thing is stupid, too. Good play gets the fans pumped, not this artificial sh!t.

Shaq and Kobe had their run and it was time to move on because the rift was unpatchable. But you can't fault Kobe for the Lakers not getting in another all-star quality player after that, until half-way into last year. I can't think of a single team that has been finals-worthy with only one allstar (altho I imagine there have been some.)

As for Kobe wanting to be traded...things were cleared up and Kupchak finally had the fire under his @ss to get in a solid partner for Kobe (/edit: or atleast was fortunate enough to have West do his job for him....:D and they immediately made the finals, even w/o bynam )

Not sure what's more retarded: this "story," the existence of this thread, or the fact that the thread has gone on this long.
