Hmmm, you live in lexington Kentucky, and havent flown until now.... yet you claim that they drive better than anyone in the US.......
Check out the cabbies in Manhattan before saying that.

i dont care how they drive in manhatten you havnt seen the maddness there, when you want to walk accross the street, you go, cars coming or not, you go. all the cars blown their horns when you do it, but everyone does it. i saw two people standing in the middle of a 10 lane road with cars zooming by (there is no median they were standing on the yellow line) at 40mph. there arent bikes everywhere on the road in manhatten bikes with three wheels and a flatbed on the back with 100 pounds worth of junk stacked 5 feet high on the back. this is everywhere on the road. people pass on the shoulder. people get in the wrong lane to avoid a bike with a car comming right at them and zoom over a second before another car rams them. missing by inches. when someone right beside u wants over, they get over, no signal, no anyhthing they come over, you let them in or they hit you,

I've never lived in NY. But let me put it this way. Chinese drivers: dont follow road signs, always speed, do not stop for pedestrians(who constantly jaywalk), will not stop for red lights if its not necessary, constantly weaving through as much moving traffic as possible, lanes are a suggestions, and has one of the highest vehicular death rates in the world. But then again, i've never lived in NY so maybe the cabbies are that bad.

there are hardly any stop lights in beijin and NO stop signs, i doubt its like this anywhere in america in a city the size of beijing. there is no comparison. an american driver wouldn't make it 10miles without wrecking. im convinced of this

i've spent time in atlanta which is known for bad traffic and crazy roads but its not even in the same world as driving in beijing.

Why eat at the KFC / McD's there? You can get that stuff here all the time if you want to.

Cool info / pics (more pics!). But from what I've learned you've seen one of the "islands of prosperity" if you will.

Normal American drivers can't drive anyway. It would be virtually impossible for them to drive in these Asian cities. Rush hour traffic in cities like Seoul and Bangkok are maddening and roads extremely narrow. Drivers in the States have it easy.

Trust me when you're in a foreign country, familiar food brings level of comfort in foreign environment. Plus after a week of eating strange things, you'll start craving US fast foods.
