yes it is salted to preserve it through the lean winter months. I don't think Wendy's is going to store those burgers in wigwams outside the restaurant though.

Almost all meat served anywhere has been salted. Everything from coldcuts to pork to beef. Hell, even chicken typically has salt on it at some point and time. I guess if you don't do it that's fine, but this isn't some Wendy's specific behavior.
Personally, I think it would be damn cool if they stored burgers in a wigwam.
