LEAKED WINXP VIPER2 DRIVERS?

Alex

i have viper2 and am wary about installing winxp cuz no decent drivers... win2k ones suck

anyone know where to get leaked ones?

franguinho, you're not the only one. I would like to install XP on a system at home that has a Viper II in it but I cannot find any XP drivers other than the ones MS included.

when i had my viper 2 I used the W2K drivers, no "good" games worked and TV-out did not work, but everything eles was ok

My advice sell the card on FS/FT(~$35) forum get yourself a GF2 for around ~80$

GF2 from visiontek is 65 bucks at newegg. Granted it is clocked slower but still better then a viper 2 for gaming.

Yea, I just replaced a Viper 2 with a GeForce2 MX200(see Spare Partsenstein). It's time to replace those cards, you can get much better these days for the price of a sound card.

BTW, mentioning Viper2 drivers and suck in the same sentence, doesn't require OS info. 😀

Well a quick look through some old bookmarks turned up dead links and even a former Savage website whose addy is now used for porn! 😱 Even Diamond's website doesn't even mention WinXP and the Viper2 together. This is a shot in the dark, but try posting your question here, maybe someone there can help or give you some info.

Here you go Franster ... don't know if they work, but I feel your pain with the Viper II, had one for a while and Diamond's driver support sucks. Try them out and tell me if they work... I've since moved on to Geforce3 pleasure. 🙂

Good luck to you.

Here are the Leaked XP Savage 2000 drivers.

Yep, those are the leaked drivers, and from experience I can tell you that there is no OpenGL support.

Direct3D will work pretty ok actually (almost shocking considering they are very leaked/tweaked/beta drivers).
I myself switched the card for a Leadtek Geforce DDR card (dont worry guys got it soooo cheap I couldn't resist) and haven't looked back.

A Geforce2 MX400 will pretty much beat it in every department (except mip-mapping - S3 can achieve using normal Bilinear/Trilinear mip-mapping what nvidia needs anisotropic filtering for) or a cheap Geforce2 based card (ie. GTS/Pro/Ti) for those on a budget. Those who aren't on a budget would have upgraded long ago 🙂
