How many hard/capacitive buttons phone have launched since the introduction of soft keys, including recently?

I doubt that OEM's would follow Google's lead there when they deviate on pretty much everything else.

Looks so damned plasticky.

Samsung makes nice products, but damn, make an effort to pretty up the phone a bit already.

They had me excited with the Ativ S until I found out recently it was faux brushed aluminum. :(

I like HTC's use of plastic, though. They tend to have a better feel and are fairly durable. My HTC Trophy has seen a lot of punishment and has held up well.

I've dropped my Lumia 800 a lot lately, mainly cause I don't like it very much so I'm less carefull with it. This thing is built like a tank, not even a single scratch. It's fallen on a tile floor, dirt, tarmac and no scratches at all.

It's made of plastic, so I don't see why we need exotic materials, a good plastic will do just fine.

Nothing wrong with plastic per se. However, I've never build particularly impressed with the build feel of the Samsung Galaxy S III. It just feels cheap to me.

The Note 2

I think Samsung will continue to use at least capacitive buttons to set itself apart.

It's an improvement over the GS2, but yeah it's still pretty disappointing.

I'm ok with most of it. They could have used something a bit better for the silver band though. That is a bit blegh.

Edit. I'll forgive them because of the way the screen curves into it though.

I think I would like plastic if its that matte rubber type. But that stuff peels off over time.
