Orianna as AP mid is amazing for a team once you get into the teamfight phase. She brings so much utility as well as being pretty damn powerful on the attack. Fenix and I played against a Ori + Soraka team the other day and we couldn't kill their carries because it would be Shield (AR/MR boost) + Heal (AR boost).

Alright let's play the most infuriating team comp I can think of -

Shen top
Ori mid
Soraka/Sona support
AD carry of choice (Ashe if you want obnoxious amounts of CC)
Alistar jungle

Shields and heals and CC galore.

edit: Lee Sin jungle is more annoying, his shield is much better than Alistars small heal.

Started out as a troll team...and ended up absolutely owning.

Is Orianna really more annoying than Zilean?

I don't think enough people know how to really play Zilean (I know I don't). He requires good intuition as to whats going on and decent timing to truely be helpful to the team. Orianna can be played more straight forward as a "carry" which suits more peoples play styles.

Spec mode patch is already out and I briefly tried it this morning to watch one of the featured games. Seems pretty good. There's a timeline bar so you can go back and watch any point of the match.

This "Added an indicator to show owned rune content when attempting to purchase a new rune; Rune purchases past the usable rune limit will now be prevented" would have really helped me the other day. I bought a full set of GP10 quints forgetting that I had recombined runes into one a while ago. I used my account's 1 refund on it, but maybe with this I can convince them to refund a buyer's remorse champion as well if I end up hating a champ purchase at some point.

Fuck yeah, love me some Irelia. I love playing top. Riven top kicks the ass of 90% of top champions. Irelia is an unmovable brick.

I don't get the Irelia buffs either. I didn't hear of anyone complaining that she needed help. She seemed in a pretty decent spot as she was.

Well, not really.. she was pretty insanely heavily nerfed with the last patch. Really REALLY heavily in fact. Her laning was actually pretty weak. The only real advantage was the fact that she had a ton of sustain, with that nerfed, she has a pretty shitty early game with her not being really able to trade blows with anyone

She needed a buff.

Riot's been doing this for a lot of champs lately, nerf the skills then buff all the stats. Also I'm sad that Athene's didn't make it into this patch.

I've been playing a lot of Ez lately and haven't lost a game yet that I've played as him. I love being paired up with a Sona/Soraka so they can armor buff me so I can dive and harass the carry a ton with my full skill set. Once you get Sheen, Arcane Shift -> AA -> Essence Flux -> AA -> Mystic Shot -> AA is a ton of burst.

LMAO. So let me get this straight...they move the masteries server side and a week later someone hacks it? I was always wondering if hacking was possible in this game. I assumed it was, but hadn't really heard much about it nor seen anything (other than bugs).

I have really enjoyed playing Riven top lately. And whomever it was that mentioned looking at lifesteal quints, thank you! Looked at the amount you get from quints compared to what you would have to spend in game gold to get that, and it saves a ton of cash. Lets me focus a lot more on other items.

So far I've played against:
Renekten, close fights, but I won them, her ultimate rocks.
Mundo, poor guy couldn't even stand next to me in the middle of the minions without dieing. He was a crappy player though.
Rammus + Nidalee, had no chance of killing somebody, and my jungler NEVER helped, so just tower hugged and killed minions when I could. Joined up with team fights finally and wrecked em.

Still learning her, but I love all the gap closers. People flash away and I can catch up with them without using any summoner spells. (provided it's not through a wall)

Lifesteal is wasted on her. Get AD or AP. AD directly scales on her, but I prefer AP because it provides more actual damage. Both are great.

Wait AP on Riven what? None of her skills scale with AP. What are you smoking Nik?

I've heard a few dedicated Riven players talk about running HP5 quints to give her sustain in top lane since she already has a naturally high HP5.

Armor Pen.

I disagree with the Hp5. Riven is extremely easy to manage champion aggro with the shield and dash. I almost never take enough damage to justify the use of Hp5 quints. Early potions provide all the sustain I need.

If you've been playing online games for any length of time, you probably know that most games eventually have to deal with scum of the earth cheaters that enjoy ruining your experience. League of Legends is one of the largest games on the planet, and the downside is that there are more people actively working to find exploits that create an unfair advantage for other players.

That's bull****, and we're not going to allow it.

We take this seriously. Nothing is more important to us than the sanctity of our game, competitive or otherwise. As soon as we discovered the issue, we immediately dropped everything to find both immediate and permanent fixes. I'm happy to report that the immediate fix has been implemented, and we'll be restarting all regions this evening to add some redundancy which will prevent similar exploits in the future. As we continue to investigate and further analyze data, our primary commitment is identifying players affected and doing everything within our power to make it right.

Is this the end of people trying to ruin your experience? No. But we're committed to stopping this kind of behavior in its tracks, and are discussing ways to increase our monitoring and development as part of that commitment. We have comprehensive logs and data that allow us to see precisely who did what, and also who was negatively affected by this malicious behavior. We’ve identified all of the players that have been using this exploit, and we’re going to be taking firm action against their accounts.

This kind of stuff is unacceptable, and will never be tolerated by Riot Games. For those of you who have been reporting the issue, thank you! We've been deleting all threads about it in the forums to keep visibility low, but we've definitely appreciated you making us aware.

just an FYI by convention AP always means Ability Power in LoL. If you need to refer to armor pen and don't want to type it all out at least do ArP or ArPen.

I know. It was extreme laziness. I was hoping that it would be obvious due to Rivens AD only nature.

My thing, when it comes to armor pen, I find it's useless.

At low levels, the amount of damage returned from armor pen is negligible. I think if you take a character with max armor pen early on from masteries, and runes and abilities and hit someone, you are only going to get about 10 more damage total from what I remember calculating per hit. Easier to just add more AD and cheaper.

Late game it makes a difference to those without armor. When the damage of your champion is high enough that a percentage of being increased adds way more damage than AD alone for the cost. The thing is that Last Whisperer has all the armor pen you'll ever need for a champ. Anything after that is cost ineffective. I remember doing the calculations for this months ago and sharing with a few people like Thayorn over ventrillo. The math for ArPen runes is just silly. Don't bother with them. Get straight AD early to help with your early game for earlier dominance and better last hitting. ArPen is worthless except for last whisperer.
