I just today downloaded what's supposed to be the latest drivers, a file named ALL_TVDRV_30130.zip. Dates on these files range from June to November 2002. However, I have versions from December 2002 that came with WinFastTV_030109 Driver and AP.zip which I downloaded in February 2003. My impression is that they have never changed the drivers.

MMCD 3.1
(2003/8/26) for drivers

MMCD 3.1 (PVR 3.0.9.11 & FM 1.40)
(2003/9/17) for application

that's what I see, seems up 2 date to me...

MMCD 3.1 is the app, not the driver.

One important thing to remember is that Leadtek doesn't write the core driver files, they repackage the Conexant driver... if Conexant hasn't released another driver revision yet, Leadtek may be left waiting till they do. On the other hand, if Conextant HAS released newer driver, you can pick out the core files and update them yourself, though I don't think there's anything to gain by doing that, the BT878 is quite mature by now, all the significant stuff to update is in the app.

Look at extracted "drivers" and you will see:
wf2kvcap.sys dated July 25, 2003 Product version 5.13.1.246 (or .245 for file version).

Ap is also updated but is very buggy.
Most times window does not stay on top even though it's checked.
Closing out window does not put ap in system tray like it used to.
(not running wiz in startup, but wasn't before, and closing Ap used to put ap in system tray).

Man, I lucked out that time. Got it for $46 with a free T-shirt. I installed it last night and I love it! For under $50 I now have TV and radio in my office and so much more!

Thank you to all 930 posters! :D

Also switches between window and fulll screen when changing channels (random times), programs selected to record from titantv now always report that there is an overlaping event already there. And programs won't record sound when silent mode selected for the record event.

three more bugs that I found.

What is the most stable level of the app to use?

To disable autostart in task bar, simply go to Start/Run and type msconfig, then hit enter.
Choose startup tab and unselect WFWIZ. Apply. Exit and reboot.
Startup Control Panel calls this Winfast Schedule (WFWIZ.EXE). If you disable loading this at startup, will your scheduled TV recordings not happen?

Edit: I ran the experiment. Configured to NOT run WFWIZ.exe at startup (Winfast Scheduler), rebooted, and my scheduled recording happened anyway. I guess the payoff is that you get back the resources you would otherwise lose to having the Winfast Wizard in the tray, which people in this thread say is considerable. I sure don't need that thing just for the "shortcuts."

Good question. The latest version does have one bug fixed: It defaults to Stereo when you schedule a program instead of Mono. FF is still limited to 2x instead of the 4x it shows in the GUI.

I'm buyin. So here's a question.... Do you think a cheap duron 600, S3 Savage 8MB AGP w/ TV out, WD SE 80GB ATA100 drive, plentof RAM with this card would do timeshifting okay running 98SE? D-scaler would probably bring that 600 duron to it's knees though huh? i haven't done this before so I don't know what the cpu utilization looks like. Thanks :D

takes about 4% of my p4 2.6 cpu in a dell 8300 just to run the pvr software. When timeshifting it goes to ~10% more.

I am running the 30130 release of the app and it seems very stable. I may try the new release tonight though.

I disabled running WFWIZ.exe with Startup Control Panel. However, something reinstalled a duplicate. Does anyone know what's afoot here? Never seen anything like that.

Hey guys. I have some tech question I want to ask you about this card. I was watching Adult Swim on it just fine last week, but somehow this week the reception became poor and I have these distortions on the screen. Is this my cable company's problem or is the card and coxial cable?

Crellion101: it might be just bad signal from cable.. see if it goes away after some days.. there's also a "fine tune" feature on the remote, but I don't know if that works with cable, I've only used it with broadcast tv and it works for some situations.

Just realized this thread is about 9 months old now... I still like this TV card and use it everyday. STILL haven't had the time to go and try all the features yet, I mainly just watch TV with it.

The fine-tune feature does work with cable, though on our cable, some channels look bad while others don't... even using the fine-tune it can't get rid of noise already on the signal.

After installing the new app v. 30917, a problem I reported earlier, [MP3 codec setting not remembered and reverting to uncompressed PCM] is resolved, now when app loads it's painless to record "HQ" Divx+MP3.:)

I hope this hasn't been asked before (sorry - this thread is a monster), but I'm thinking about sticking this in my wifes PC to act as a PVR. Question is, if I schedule a recording, does the TV window pop up? Or will it run in the background?

She probably wouldn't like it too much if she were in the middle of working, only to have Adult Swim pop-up. ;)

TIA,

Chum

I know this is a bit OT, but this thread is 9 months old and abominably long!!!.
Someone should post a FAQ for the XP Deluxe problems.

My remote broke too..........

This card is great, even has a "boss" key where when pressed everything instantly becomes hidden. It also came with a free t shirt
