Can anyone link me to download the 14+MB PVR other than the official leadtek ftp? It's sooo slow and it's giving me time-out errors 
I just transplanted this tuner card to my new XP box (1700xp/8RDA+/RADEON 9500/512m DDR)...starts to record FM fine, but when its comes time to shutdown I'm still getting friggin mfc42.dll errors. Just cannot believe how buggy this software is!

Although I have already downloaded it (took me more than an hour!!), thanks for the heads up. 500kbps is > 3kbps!!
i seen this problem before too...
for me it meant a codec problem.... the sound codec/settings worked so i heard sound but the video codec was wrong so no vid.
try different codec combos in your "capture profile settings"

Did anyone notice if the latest version of the PVR software (5/28/2003) still uses a lot of resources (even when idling)? I noticed that some people posted that their 3dMark scores were quite a bit lower (this was a few months back) even with it just idling (had to unload it thru the systray icon).
Is it? My SETI is still running at least 98% on idle, and the 1-2% is mostly occupied by CoolMon, while memory usage is only about 4mb?
Just got this card, but don't have any sound when I play my PS2.
I use the adaptor to plug the yellow RCA plug into the computer but where do I plug in the sound?
The red/white plugs on the RCA cable dont fit into the sound input on the card.
Please help.

I can sympathize with the frustration with the bugs. I am impressed with the TV software in spite of the bugs, but the bugs ARE inexcusable and I hope they fix them in a future release. I record FM using this card and flawlessly but I don't use the included recording application. I use Total Recorder standard edition, which costs about $12 and is a download. Once you buy it, you get upgrades free, and they are not infrequent. Total Recorder has never let me down and its scheduling works great and you can schedule one time, weekly, daily, etc. Supports MP3 and other formats and you can choose from a very wide range of parameters, sampling rates, bitrates, etc. Of course, you have to have your Winfast FM program running to use Total Recorder to record FM. I used to use an external receiver for the signal. I'm using my rooftop TV antenna, split - one side for the TV signal, the other for the FM signal. I get good, noiseless stereo FM recordings.

Anybody into HDTV cards? I'm thinking about the MyHD MDP-120, not cheap. Here's an Anandtech thread on HDTV that includes some discussion of cards.
So is there a software set that people would recommend overall as opposed to the provided software for this card?

Search this thread for talk of dscaler, a free download and very configurable. I think you can get superior recordings using dscaler. There are shortcomings to the included PVR software, including diminished brightness, and more importantly a quite annoying lag from sound to video (synch problem). I don't know how dscaler does with these, but the big thing I saw when I tried dscaler was that I lost stereo. When I heard that I stopped playing with it and went back to the card's software.
After it failed to load the PVR software as a user, I re-installed the software as admin on my xp box...now everything works fine.
Funny thing is I originally installed the pvr software as admin and was getting the mfc42.dll faults...now it works...go figure.

hook it up to the ps2 thru yellow rca.....image looks grainy on monitor, sound is staticky...
i thought monitor's higher resolution + refresh rate should be better than tv's
even w/o using the s-video adaptor

And this time the drivers are actually new! I downloaded the files and they were last modified 6/13/2003 or later!
The new software is supposed to support teletext, direct burn, and EPG.
Edit: not all the drivers are new, only one of them is: wf2kvcap.sys is the only new driver released.

be careful to uninstall EVERYTHING before you update any drivers.
that d@m crosstunerbar will trash your system if it installs twice... continued reboots that trash more and more of your system.
also don't let windows hardware installer "sneak" it in on your or you will get a dual install.
i've had to reformat my hard drive more than once because of this leadtek software.
good advice...i think ill try to save my system as is before I install.
I don't want to have to go through the ordeal I just went through 2 months ago with my card.
EEk, this is why I haven't updated my drivers since I got it 8 months ago, my first install when great, and so far it's done everything I want it to (That may change soon though, I have more things in mind) I won't change untill I find a problem, as long as I don't have any, I don't want to install some.
I just installed the latest update package to windows 2000 pro and all my problems with this card dissapeared.
When I started it before it would hang and I had to close it with task manager, then restart it again. Now it starts the first time.
