I called, and they said they were out of stock with no idea what the estimated time of arrival of the next shipment is. I could either hold on to the order (149.99 is the correct price) or cancel the order.

I got an email stating the same thing.

I just think this is an easy way for them to look good without canceling the orders.

OOS, and we have no idea when we will ever get more... so if you want to wait till the end of time... please feel free.

I wonder how many they did have, and how many they actually shipped at that price.

I know I was in way before they updated the site.

maybe by the time they do get more stock in to fill orders, the prices for them will be lower/the same elsewhere

Original poster here, and I got the same out-of-stock email. Oh, well, the mail was pleasant enough, and I'm not missing out on anything by waiting, so I'm not cancelling. That does put my combo usb/firewire enclosure on hold (ordered at the same time as the video card), but I can wait.

Chumbo.com is now showing the BFG 6600GT OC AGP in stock. Not that I want to pay $249 but that probably means that other retailers will be getting them in soon too!
