LCD's put out a buttload of heat too. The heat coming off the front panel of my 46" LCD is enough to shift the thermostat near it a couple degrees. Even walking by it you can feel the heat radiating from it.

And I believe once they get hot enough the internal fans start turn on. Wonderful. You have the typical HT system that's all passively cooled, then fans turn on in the living room -_-

So much for critical listening.
 
I got the non-elite 5020fd for under $2k last year. PQ is better than my dad's Panny 1080p which is newer. You should look into those.

9G Kuros are very scarce, but there are reports of BB still having a few Pioneer Elite 101FDs on sale for $1999. If you are looking for a 60" Pioneer, good luck on that one.

Gotta agree with you there. I'm so glad I bought my KRP-500m when I did, eventhough I missed out on the days you could get one for $2400 shipped. Absolutely amazing displays.
