Not sure about your area, but all over the midwest when you enter a town they have signs that say "Engine Braking Ordinance In Effect" or "Engine Braking Prohibited".

This is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Engine Breaking is worse because you are actually behind the guy and could hit him. Spinning wheels don't affect you if you'r ebehind him and if you're coming up from the side, you shoudl be able to tell if the car is slowing by looking at the whole car in relation to the road.

What a dumbass.

One of my HS teachers was one of those people who comes up with ideas for inventions in his head, but never follows through patenting them. He said once he was thinking about a device that adds a "third brakelight" to cars that lights when you take your foot off the gas of the car (if CC isn't enabled). This light would serve as a warning to people that "Hey, I could be applying my breaks soon here, you better back off".

Struyk blames a set of spinners for a near-accident he had before Christmas. He said he was driving along a rural road when he saw another car stopped at a four-way-stop with spinners.

"I couldn't tell if the car was going to stop or not because he had spinning hubcaps," Struyk said. "So I jammed on the brakes and had my trailer (nearly) jackknife on me."

Am I reading this wrong? If he's coming up to a four-way stop, shouldn't he be getting ready to stop whether there is another car there or not? Why is he approaching a 4-way stop going fast enough to jack-knife? Was he just planning on running the stop sign?
