Alright I was just perusing the IMDB boards on L&O and some ideas are that
1. She's a defense attorney on Trial by Jury (if it continues without Lennie)
2. She brings a discrimination lawsuit against Branch

Hopefully neither, and they just move on, and this is just one weird blip on the L&O radar that slowly passes and one that I can soon forget.

I just read those boards too. Looks as though everyone though it was crap

Elizabeth Rohm announced she was leaving the show midseason, back this past summer. And yes the chick zippo linked to is the new ADA. She is Annie Parisse, who was in National Treasure. And now Rohm will not be in the Trial by Jury. And theres not a question Trial by Jury will continue, Orbach wasnt going to be a weekly regular on the show.

She talks about this in a Q & A with MSNBC...

I?ll admit to being a regular watcher of all things 'Law & Order'. As a result, I have little or no social life, because it?s on all the time. But I haven?t really seen any clues that your character is about to leave, so my prediction is that something big is going to happen. Enlighten me.

That?s very interesting, because there are two camps. There are people that think that they?ve seen clues and there are people that have seen none.

Oh no, I?m the stupid one.

No, Sam (Waterston) doesn?t feel like there have been any clues. ... I?m kind of somewhere in between. I know what happens when I leave; then I wonder if there were real moments that led up to that. And I think that there have been a few, but I think it?s going to be surprising.

Do you get into some sort of trouble here?

Of course I get into trouble! It?s no fun having a big party if you don?t get into any trouble. And a departure, I guess, is a party!

out of the blue....i've been watching the series for a while..seen every eps she's been in...never ever do i remember anything lesbo. a man remembers when a hot character is a lesbo...

that was just so sh*tty...

ok the next eps preview has a brunette as the new da. maybe it was a last minute firing..of the real actress for some reason.

Like I said in my above post, Rohm announced over the summer she would be leaving L&O mid season. In Nov Dick Wolf and the production company announced the new ADA would be Annie Parisse.

I wish Wolf would have shelled out the cash and brought back Angie Harmon. IMHO she was the best ADA character they evar had. Instead, looks like he went out and got a look-a-like.

Law & Order is that way. They never tell much about the characters personal lives (outside of Lennie's divorces). Once in a while they just drop a little bomb at the end of an episode like it's no big deal. The ones I remember are:

1) The ADA with the short hair died in a car accident
2) McCoy had an affair with one of the ADAs

That's what makes L&O awesome. No stupid personal matters.

I found this site with all the known stuff about the character's backgrounds. It says Serena was divorced. Time to update site 🙂

http://home.insightbb.com/~kdjoly/backstory.htm

Serena Southerlyn - Assistant District Attorney, New York County

Religious Background: Roman Catholic (Tragedy on Rye)

Marital Status: divorced (3 Dawg Night); no children (Maritime)

Schooling: NYU Law School (Genius -- took class from Professor Simpkis)

Extracurricular Activities: Rides a mountain bike in the park for exercise (Mother's Day)

Other Facts: Lost her virginity at her Junior Prom with a college senior who is now a state legislator (Shangri La), although in conversation with a witness in the episode Blaze, she indicated that "nothing happened" the night of her Junior Prom, only that she enjoyed her mother's thinking it had.

While she was definately one of the hottest, her attitude was annoying as hell some of the time (her characters). She had that Texas style justice, guilty until proven innocent thing going on.

Oh, and can someone tell me how they handled the death of Jerry Orbach on the show? I haven't been catching the new ones.

exactly.

Made for drama and conflict because for a change she was the Harda** and McCoy was the wuss.

They didn't say anything. He told Green he was "putting his papers in" the episode he left. He was supposed to star in another spin-off. Taped a few episodes even. It's questionable if it will air at this point.

I think Angie Harmon left because she was having a baby.
