why did the chick that played serena leave?

She did not want to be stuck in too comfortable a role, at least that is what she said on leno.

Cheers,
Aquaman

hm..she didnt want to be like sam walton or Jerry Orbach and stay on tv for 10+ years in the same role?

she's throwing away being on a successful series, job security, and the possibility of a spin-off to be the star instead of support?

it's like that chick on star trek:voyager that walked away from her role after 3 years. Where is she now? better yet, anyone remember who she was? (i rest my case.)

what does Rohm (Serena) have down the pipe?

Oh, and can someone tell me how they handled the death of Jerry Orbach on the show? I haven't been catching the new ones.
They didn't say anything. He told Green he was "putting his papers in" the episode he left. He was supposed to star in another spin-off. Taped a few episodes even. It's questionable if it will air at this point.

From what I recall, Orbach wasnt going to be a fulltime regular on Trial By Jury, because when he left L&O he knew he had medical problems as he was under treatment for prostate cancer before he left L&O. His non fulltime status on Trial by Jury is evident by the fact he only appears on three of the six episodes shot before his death. And Dick Wolf has already said Trial by Jury will continue forward with a new cast member.

I dunno, being type cast can be a very dangerous thing for an actor. Look at Ed O'neil (Al Bundy). They tried to bring back Dragnet with him as the lead role, and it failed miserably. Why? Because he's Al Bundy, not a police detective!

She did the right thing. Sam Waterstone is typecast. She may not get work again but who knows? She was on Angel before L&O and nobody remembers her. Besides being pretty hot she's not exactly the greatest actor. Maybe she will end up on some other show *shrug*

It took awhile for Jill Hennessy to get a new show but now she's on Jordan and it's pretty successful.

The only word I heard out of the last 10 minutes was lesbian [I was on the phone]

Spoilers?

Basically, boss man said that Serena was too soft and that she didn't have the "hard edge" to do the job that she was hired to do. Then he fired her.

Then she responds with "Is it because I'm a lesbian?"

WTF????????????????????????????????

LOL yah, that came outta nowhere.

What the District Attorney actually told ADA Serena was that she was too passionate about her work. They were looking for people who worked hard, but not passionate; A person who has to be cold and emotionless in the court room, etc. ADA Jack doesn't agree (wasn't in the scene) but he respects the District Attorney's decision. She goes, "so you've already decided?"; And then he fires her. A few moments later, she asks that stupid arse question, "Is it because I'm a Lesbian?"; And the District Attorney's face was like, crumpled and answered "No, no. No. Of course not"; And she goes, "Good".

 stupid ending, IMHO.

i dunno, he does have the weary cop look. i think its more that the show wasn't that good in that case. being type cast means u don't get the job in the first place😉

to be fair, trek actors tend not to have many career alternatives in the first place when they are picked for the show....
