I haven't seen this woman do anything useful since the show started. Vincent D'Onofrio (Private Pyle:p) is the one that solves all the damn crimes and investigates everything. And he's always the one that interrogates the suspects.

Besides, she looks like a chimp

LOL, she's nothing but a shadow and an echo to Pyle :D

And I think that Pyle carried over those "quirky" mannerisms from his role in Men in Black :D "I put my hands...on...ma head" :D

LOL! I wondered the same thing, and then I came to realize it's a a modern day Sherlock Holmes, and she plays 'watson'. Basically she got the crap role, but, money is money.

Yeah, she's just dead weight. All she does is repeat things that Detective Goren (Pyle) has already said and make comments about the BLATANTLY obvious. If Lenny Briscoe were her partner, he would have bitch slapped her the first day :D

I LOVE Briscoe! Notice how they always keep him but change his partners. Because HE is awesome, his partner is just secondary.

Yeah, but Lenny's partners always have half a brain though. Detective Greene is actually pretty cool though. Also, I love Lenny's one-liners right before the openings credits roll :D

The Humble Page of Great Lennie-Lines :p:D

Are you trying to say that this is because she's a female detective, and women can't be good detectives? Grrrrrrrrrr! Biting my lips and holding it back. :|

Damn you're dense sometimes. Her gender has nothing to do with our reaction to the lack of a real role the writers are giving her. It's the writers who make her act as if she's just a bathroom attendant. Oh, wait, bathroom attendants are more helpfull.

What the hell?? Have you even bothered reading the thread?? Don't go off on some damn "females being oppressed" tyraid.

The whole point of this thread is that SHE DOESN'T DO ANYTHING IN THE SHOW!!! She just stands there and looks STUPID while her partner solves all the crimes. It has NOTHING to do with her being female, just that she adds NOTHING to the show. The only reason why I said the "Female detective" and "she" is b/c I couldn't think of her character's name. Heck, I didn't even know the male detective's name either at the start of the thread, that's why I called him by his real name and by his name in Full Metal Jacket (which most us here know him by).

Watch the show before you come in here guns blazin'...then you'll see what all the fuss is about. And if you read the responses, you'll see that most everyone has noticed this about her character.

Oh yeah, I'm dense, Amused One and will never make a good female detective. Does that make you feel better now? :disgust:

I seriously doubt it."

Oh yeah, it didn't matter but you took your time to state that she was female. If she was an obvious character, then what was the relevance of her sex on the subject title. Don't worry, for the next time you'll see a female detective who's set to kick your a** like no man before.

Now, who's dense? You guys who got all defencive and began the name calling or I? ;) Make a pick now! ;)

If you had seen the show and have some insight onto her character, that would be one thing. Buy you don't so your opinion here is kinda suspect

Female is an adjective, and being that english lacks a genderless reference to individuals I would say you need to reach down and unbunch those panties.

Okay, now, Rahvin, you are crossing the line. Maybe you should mind your freakin' business when something is explicitly addressed to someone else, eh? No one ever taught you not to be a freakin' kibitz? Now you know if you were never taught: stay out of this.

NFS4, it's okay. Relax. I was just trying to make a point about your subject title. I am sure you could have phrased it differently. But I do know that you had no ill-will, as I'm familiar with your posts. We're cool, so don't worry. ;) Stop the rolling eyes and be happy.

I could relax if maybe I had a good massage. I hear that FEMALES give good massages;)

What line? The imaginary line you have drawn in your own mind to delinate words spoken in a public forum with private conversation? Maybe you should consider sending PM's next time you intend something to be private and not recieve responses from others. Otherwise my comments still stand and your comments to Amused were plainly an overeaction and implication of meaning far beyond what he actually said. Now why don't you try calming down a little.

luvly, stop trying so damn hard to read meanings between the lines... meanings that just aren't there.

Have you watched the show? Her character is utterly useless. NFS4 described her as female ONLY for identification purposes. It's not his fault your activist/feminist McCarthyism kicked in and you felt compelled to accuse him of some phantom misogyny.

Seems to me that Luvly wants the terms "male" and "female" removed from the English language. You are WAYYY too sensitive. Miss Hoover would call you a P.C. Thug.
