Hi all,

I've started going to the gym recently, and I've discovered that when I do the lat pull down exercise, that my elbow makes a click and feels like there might be something shifting around in there that shouldn't be, it doesn't seem very stable, and I quit doing the exercise because of it. Do I just have a bad elbow or does this happen with bad form? Not sure if I'm too far back in the seat, too far up, too much weight where my joint can't handle it (even though my muscles can)... I don't want to go to the doctor to have them tell me "nothing wrong" when it could have been bad form. Just wondering if anybody else experiences this and has a suggestion.

If you haven't injured it, you are either experiencing tendons moving over a bony prominence or have joint hypo/hypermobility leading to that clicking. Most of the time, in my experience, it has to do with the radial head at the radioulnar joint. If you don't have enough pronation/supination at the wrist, that could be the cause (google the terms :) ).
