Working in academia was the worst work experience I ever had. So much red tape to wade through, and so many little social circles. I got laid off by my new manager (who came to work for like 3 days and then took 4 weeks of vacation). Once he got back, we had our meeting. Lasted about 45 seconds. He then hired one of his buddies from his previous jobs to take my place. No matter now... I've had a job in the private sector for over 2 years that is WAY more fun, and gives me great benefits and twice the pay. I'll never work for a university again.
