I feel Lana Del Rey has less talent than Nicki Minaj. Why, you ask? Because, Nicki didn't have to sleep her way to fame and actually speaks rather intelligently when not putting on her act. Either she has a fantastic act and plays the public well, or is talented enough to pretend to.

LOL

Well in Lana's defense, having sex with insiders didn't accomplish anything for her:

“You know, I have slept with a lot of guys in the industry, but none of them helped me get my record deals. Which is annoying,”

In her first incarnation as Lizzy Grant, she was this happy pop princess. That didn't work. So Lana Del Rey was born. She is about as fake and manufactured as they come.

Either terrible in bed or terrible at choosing who to sleep with.

I know I shouldn't like her, as someone who a sense of integrity when it comes to music, but I do. I know it's an act, but I like the noir-esque throwback style she oozes. Don't even care that used sex to get to where she is. Its one asset women have and sex appeal is part of her act.

I dig her.

i listened to her music it is depressing, self-aggrandizing and pretentious bullshit. taylor swift is more attractive, smarter, and has better music

What are you talking about? She used to be a nobody like the rest of us and now she is a megarich celeb living the high life. You actually believe her quote? She got a nose job, fake lips, sucked dick, and got her contracts. Does that mean she is not talented? of course not. But consider how many talented people are trying to get in with Hollywood and you see why people stoop to what they have to do in order to get noticed. She has quotes about sleeping with teachers, sleeping with record company executives.

"She was also in a seven-year-long on-again, off-again relationship with the head of a record label, who was a great inspiration to her and whom she calls the love of her life.[201] She met him in her early twenties when she was trying to have her debut album released by a major label, and they are still close."

Does it get any clearer? Sex is everything. And it's getting to be even more so now with this social media world. All these rich old dudes are turning into massive pedo's.

Yup, absolutely self-aggrandizing, pretentious bullshit. It's derivative in the extreme. Most of all, it's just not very good.

What sealed it for me is when she gave some interview and made sure to mention her literary inspirations like Jack Kerouac and Walt Whitman, i.e., exactly the same cliched list every BS freshman English major would cite as he tried to impress some "stars in her eyes" townie who'd snuck into the student hall.

She's a shallow, manufactured poseur. Lol, here's some examples:

“Brooklyn Baby”: No specific literary reference here, just the mention of “get[ting] down to beat poetry.” Presumably Kerouac or Ginsberg. Overall, the general vibe is one of a dilettante—typical of those Brooklyn denizens with vast bookshelves containing many unread books.

“Body Electric”: Taken from the title of Walt Whitman’s poem “I Sing the Body Electric,” this song is moody and often wistful—in no way a mirror of Whitman’s own style and tone

Even her manufactured name is a stumbling mistake that began misspelled as "Ray" which betrays her own original ignorance of its Latin provenance, as much as she would like to pretend otherwise:

When Lizzy Grant made the name change for the first time she named herself Lana Del Ray with an ‘a’, like Man Ray. ‘Ray’ became ‘Rey’ fairly quickly following the release of her first album, much to the annoyance of her first record company.

The singer told Vogue the name came when she was frequently visiting Spanish speaking Cuban friends in Miami. “Lana Del Rey reminded us of the glamour of the seaside.,” she said. “It sounded gorgeous coming off the tip of the tongue."

"Del Rey" is Spanish. "Del Ray" is just the ignorant mistake of a twerp.

Is it normal that after listening to that "song" for 47 seconds that I want to kill myself?
No. You clearly have a high tolerance. The terrible recording quality was getting to me as soon as the music started. Her voice is not bad, but everything else is.

Thanks, I thought it was just me. I was irritated after a few seconds but I wanted to give it a chance. Once again, ATOT disappoints me. But then, it is Naer.
EDIT
I guess it Kushina. Can't tell the difference
