The Abyss.

The movie was boring as hell, but the ending was just terrible.

That's because they ran out of money. It was so over budget they had to just end it.

What!? Was I the only one that clapped and cheered that Leonardo died? :D I also clapped and cheered when the credits rolled so I could turn the freaking VCR off!

My vote is for Total Recall. I mean, just as Arnold's eyes are going to burst... they don't! :p

Contact - What the hell. the alien was her Dad? That was the biggest crock ever.
Uhh... I think they laid it out pretty well why the alien looked like Dad.

Foster: "This isn't real. You must've download my memories."
Morse: "We thought it'd help you feel more at ease."
(not the exact words, but the gist of it is there. Just watched it a few nights ago)

LMAO! Heh.. I liked that movie... :)

I agree with The Abyss.. very cool movie until the gay ending.

And M. Night Shyalaman is the most overrated director ever..

Oh, and Contact had a decent ending: "It's not that the camera recorded static, but that it recorded 18 hours of it.." (or however that quote went)

If you watch the DVD, it has additional scenes that build up to a completely different ending (sort of).

Vanilla Sky was a hollywood version of a Spanish movie called Abre Los Ojos (Open Your Eyes). I haven't seen all of vanilla sky (I assume it's the same movie from parts I've seen) but I thought that Abre Los Ojos had a pretty cool ending, though it does take you off-guard.

The ending of the movie Staying Alive with John Travolta. At the end of the movie, his character, Tony has successfully performed his first professional dance production on Broadway. He is walking out of the back of the building when the love interest asks him what he's going to do now.
Tony: "I'm gonna strut."

He then proceeds to walk off in this goofy looking strut.

i think this explains the movie pretty well :D

Were you talking about Vanilla Sky? If so that isn't the way Abre Los Ojos ended. Yea that would suck. If you get a chance and can tolerate subtitles, watch it.

No, his books have incredible endings. They ALWAYS have a twist and leave you feeling a bit uncomfortable. The movies, well Hollywood fvcks em up.

One bad movie ending I'll never forget is from "An American in Paris". It's been a few years so my memory is hazy. The movie went along normally. It's one of those old 50s-60s movies so there were a couple of musical numbers in it. Anyway, there is some sort of a conflict in the story, like the guy has trouble with the girl he likes or whatever. They go into a song & dance routine, but it lasts like 20 minutes! Then after 20 minutes of this guy (Gene Kelly?) dancing around Paris, he kisses the girl and the movie ends. The actual problem never gets resolved.

No way.

I read about 75% of his books and they all end stupidly. Take Congo for example. They find a stupid hot air balloon and fly away. Or Jurassic Park, they find a boat and sail away. Practically all his books end with the people finding some convenient last minute solution to save them.

I'n surprised no one mentioned Lost in Space

Good actors, decent plot . . . but the ENDING . . . the WORST EVER.

If you watch it just shut it off 5 or 6 minutes before the end . . . you have been WARNED!
