yao is the 2nd or 3rd best center in the league. the only 2 clearly better than yao are Shaq and Duncan (ok, so he's a PF).

Yao has more skillz than shaq tho. In 2 or 3 years Yao will probably be 1 or 2.

Yao is the more SKILLED player, Shaq is without question the more dominating player.

however, a couple more years of seasoning and Yao could be just as dominant in a slightly less physical way.

I was watching the first half of this game while my friends and I were in Bennigan's... Wow, I honestly had no hope that we'd win, let alone 102 to 87... I wonder if anyone has a tape of this game.

Why? Yao can shoot free throws, Shaq cannot. Yao is taller with a jumpshot, Shaq is short with no jumper. Yao can pass, Shaq cannot. The only thing I would concede to Shaq is his defense, but that comes with experience. Eventually Yao will surpass Shaq in all categories except bodyfat.

Don't forget, already in head to head meetings: Rockets 3, Lakers 1.

Yao plays a better technical game. Shaq plays a better power game.

Yao wasn't 100% developed either, he was still in the womb. Look for Yao's point ratio in relation to Shaq's to rise as Shaq keeps getting more food while Yao keeps getting more experience.
