I've NEVER said it was a bad game. Just not worth buying.
At the end of IGNs video review, he states "So, if you really just want a hack and slash game to go through, and something pretty to look at, the game is only like 6 hours, so you can easily beat it as a rental. And its worth doing that, unfortunately its just not as good as everyone had hoped it would be." So no, I didnt read the review, I watched it. Sue me.
I'm sorry, but no game, no matter how good it is, is worth spending $60 on it if its only 6 hours long, which often consists of repetitive arena battles. Thats exactly the kind of game you should rent, because you'll be done with it in a day. It might be a hell of a day, but I'd expect more for $60. Even if no one else had said its only worth a rental, I'd still be saying it myself.
Thats my opinion. You can call it slander, bias or an agenda if you want.
So now its down to one review, and not several? Why didnt you just say that, instead of lying about it, and saying several did? You're also under the mis assumption that it will be 6 hours long for everyone, when it wont. Game Informer said about 8 hours. Sure thats not a lot of time, you and everyone has the right to say its not enough. There are lots of good games that have about 8 hours of gameplay.. such as say, Bioshock. It got a lot of 10's in reviews.

Now that we've moved past that, lets talk about the actual game.
Well, I rented Lair today. The controls are very easy to me. Im doing everything just fine. Did the little tutorial, got all the rings. Got a gold on the first mission, and the second on my first try. The only issues I am having, are what have been mentioned in reviews. Dipping frames, and lock on that doesnt lock on the target I want. Both are can be really annoying.
I did read the manual before playing, and I did watch some youtube videos showing that slower, is better. You cant go in and play like a 3 year old. Not a crack on anyone, but thats how my 3 year old boy uses the sixaxis sometimes. In super rub-a-dub, he will tilt it so far, the controller is upside down, and be moving it really fast. He gets excited... You just have to tilt it a little, and not go over board. And not go real fast, just go smooth and easy. I should note I have firmware 1.92. Which helped me in super rub-a-dub. Tighter controls.
Not sure how many missions there are, Im on the 4th. Maybe I can beat it in 5 days, and not have to buy it. But Im digging it so far. Not the 4.5-6.5 its been getting to me, but not the franchise game it was touted to possibly be. So far, Id give it a 7.5-8. Some problems, none of which are with the controls for me, and a very excellent soundtrack.

I beat Bioshock in .6 seconds.
I've never personally played Lair, but it sounds like Game Informer had a good review on the game (7.5-8). It seems to follow what the majority of the consumers think.
