Taylor Swift looks is just too cute.. not sure about her singing.

Gaga's songs are catchy and different.

How much were the tix? I wanted to see her when she stops in philly but it's like $200 a seat. Can't do that.

She markets her image based on unique costumes, catchy beats and better lyrics (at least compared to current dance/pop music), rather than conventional physical beauty. This differentiates her from other artists and gives her more staying power.

My buddy has a minor obsession with Lady Gaga, and he's converted me. I love her music and I'm convinced she'll be remembered as the Madonna of our generation.

Lady GaGa is the single most influential, beautiful, and talented musician of our time. No one else even comes close. Everything about her epitomizes the finest qualities of human existence. She represents the peak of female human evolution. She is the only woman worthy of bearing my children.

One's a sexually ambiguous attention whore, the other a chart topping female singer/songwriter of no small repute.

I payed about $110 on stub hub for the nosebleed $45 tickets. I had to buy two tickets. If it was just me, i would have bought more expensive lower level seat.

Gaga is coming to Pittsburgh Labor Day weekend 2010, but the general public sale of those tix where for all practical purposes sold out before they went on sale. The majority of that concert's tix were bough during the special pre-order windows that ticket master had set up.

She added another concert in Pittsburgh, feb 2011.. I bought my tickets on Stub hub about 3-4pm in the afternoon. the General public sale of those tickets opened at like 10am.. but the only thing i could get on ticket master were like $200 dollar 100 level seats.

GOOD LUCK!

I'm sure she will be remembered greatly. I guess I'm just one of those people that don't understand the hype, or at least haven't bought into.

She squeals, and she's not that famous.

I mean really, only us ATOTers know about TFP.

Eh, not my music, although I really do understand why those who like it do like it.

Plus, I've seen and heard her enough just singing while playing the piano to know she IS actually musically talented.

Finally, my hat is off to her for marketing her way to a very successful career. That's no small feat, and it looks like she directed and directs most of that herself and isn't a passive creation/product of others.

She's got my respect. For that, I'd let her run her fingers through my downy white beard and then do me. :awe:

I'm a Gaga fan (the beats and her singing, not the image or the lyrics).
I think you probably missed my second sentence there :D

I'm in the same boat. Everyone goes crazy over her, and plays her music everywhere. I have no idea why people like it.

Sure some of it has a decent beat and from what I've heard she has talent, but still, I can't shake off the fact that it just sounds bad.

Hmm, this would be a problem for people like me.

I don't have much exposure to popular media because I've never cared.
Only magazine I read anymore is Time magazine.
Don't watch TV
Don't listen to radio
Don't have Newspaper Sub anymore.
They do music at theaters now?

As said above, only exposure is from random people playing on campus, and I don't really see why people like it. It just sounds like every other pop song ever created

Well maybe I've heard and I just don't know. I mainly only watch movies, read books and film magazines, and listen to podcasts and my own music.

Anyway, it's not important. :)

No Man is an Island, but a select few iconoclasts make their way through life with naught but a oft-used library card and surgically implanted in-ear headphones.

They are often mysterious and Canadian, though most academic experts in the field consider that description -- mysterious and Canadian -- to be redundant.

But all agree with the following about these mysterious iconclasts of the Moderately Deep North:

Dogs love them, women want to be their best friend, and men want to sleep with the women who want to be their best friend . . and yet the dogs who love them don't really cotton to the men who want to sleep with the women who want to be their best friends and surreptitiously try to pee on their designer sneakers when they're not looking.

Some things just can't be fully explained.

The only lyric of hers that I've always hated is

"...Russian Roulette is not the same without a gun..."

uhh, how the fuck do you play Russian Roulette without a gun?
