People like her music because it's catchy and easy to listen to.

People like her because she not arrogent, she's self effacing, and she doesn't behave like a lot of pop stars do. Almost everyone that interviews her seems impressed with her personality. That's unusual for someone who sold 14 million records in a year.

I don't understand the fascination. She's just so, weird. I have a hard time understanding if she is a man or a woman. Her music is average, and her clothing style is wack.

I dislike her.

:hmm:

Explain to me, why people like her as much as they do.
she makes better music than other people, and anyway the masses like that kind of music (different than usual radio friendly songs but still fine to them).
she looks weird and that's a plus.

Anyway here in switzerland I heard about pokerface a lot, but she isn't that famous anymore.
Now she's like other singers.

I don't really like her that much myself but do you realize that her album had 7 international top 10 hits?

If she didn't dress weird, and have the rumor going on about her having a wang. I bet the only place you would see her is on those dance hits compilation discs you see on TV on occasion.

I love how Christina Aguilera was all snarky and said she had never heard of Lady Gaga when peole started making comparisons. Now she is trying to imitate LGG in her latest video. Sorry CA, LGG Owns you!

OP, I salute you!

For months and months now, I've been wondering why no one here has ever made a thread about her or even so much as mentioned her and her music . . . it's a conundrum even spaceman couldn't explain.

I have to completely agree with this. Her music that I've heard sucks. Her costumes are just attention whoring. I don't think she's attractive. I don't get it. My closest female friend loves her and made me listen one time before I'd ever even heard of her. I was like "what is this shitty music you're making me listen to?" I really think without the costumes no one would care a damn thing about her originally.

I bet he could damn well try. :awe:

But who would translate the wisdom of his special syntax for us mere earthlings?

For that man of space we'd need to be Rosetta Stoned! :awe:

Good interview posted on this forum a few weeks ago.

I have just come up with the theory that, if you have one of your heroes lying tipsily next to you, you should tell them all the pretentious pop-culture theories you have come up with about them. So I slurringly tell her that the difference between her and, say, Madonna, is that you don’t penetrate Gaga. Her songs and videos are – while sexual – about dysfunction and neuroses and alienation and self-discovery. They’re not, in any sense, a come-on. Despite having worn very little clothing for most of her career, Gaga is not a prick tease.

“Yeah! It’s not what straight men masturbate over when they’re at home watching pornography,” she confirms. “It’s not for them. It’s for… us.” And she gestures around the club.

(They're in some crazy European freak sex club)

Btw, I'm not a Lady Gaga fan. The music just isn't for me, I guess.

Stefani Germanotta before she became Lady Gaga, very talented, but I see why she made herself into Lady Gaga. Being crazy and controversial sells. She was signed to a label and recorded an album dressed normal, but she was dropped. She was "normal" her entire life until she found out it didn't sell.

Stefani Germanotta MTV boiling point, a little thick looking in this one.

Flipping channels, we landed on some Lady Gaga takeover on Fuse over the weekend. Some terrible Fuse employee was interviewing her - I was quite surprised by the fact that she's pretty well-spoken and seemingly intelligent. Very careful with her words. Her music might not be everyone's personal taste, but she seems like a smart chick/man/she-man/whatever you want to call her.

I youtubed that interview just out of curiosity. I was also very surprised the level of intelligence she demonstrated while talking about her music, fame, and how she countered some unwelcoming questions. I think it is pretty rare in the music industry.

As to her music, it goes great with booze !
