Lactose Intolerance: What to do AFTER the dairy is eaten?

I have a pretty bad intolerance for lactose and I ate a lot of pizza yesterday.

Today I have a cramp in my stomache that feels like I swallowed my cat.

Those Lactaid pills only work if they're taken BEFORE, right?

What do you do AFTER?

I just chugged Mylanta, but I don't know how that's going to work for me. It was simply "handy."

...Think I'll go lay down.

While it is best to take something before eating I have used Zantac after eating with some success.

if you know you are lactose intolorant then why eat dairy? i really dont mean this to be a flame or anything, but i know that i cant handle that mych diary anymore, being a vegetarian ive grown accustomed to not eating it. so i stay away from it al together, maybe ill have a bite of ice cream but not a full cup to make me unable to stand striaght from cramps. drink lots of water to help it go through faster. i hope you start to feel better, it really sucks to feel that way.

That cheese that they use is no way, shape, or form related to, or even similar to real cheese. It seems more like molten plastic to me. Hmm...maybe that's the problem. Maybe it cooled and hardened up like a rock.

That's just it... It wasn't chain store pizza. It was Westshore Pizza from here in Tampa. Two reasons why people like it: hand tossed crust and REALLLLLL CHEESY CHEESE. It's truly AWESOME.

It's pretty greasy too. Maybe my problem is two fold.

There is an over the counter Zantac. That is all I use. It can be found at most any store that sells toothpaste. Will start working in about an hour.

My fiance is intolerant and she takes Lactaid afterwards sometimes. Try it, it may work.

If you have severe stomach cramps, then you probably have what I like to call &quot;Sh!t cramps.&quot; I too am lactose intolerant, and I get the worst cramps ever until I take a dump or something. LOL.

Just sit on the can and push d00d .

I use Natural Brand (from GNC) milk digestant. I usually take it immediately after eating rather than before - its a personal preference plus its now mentally ingrained in my head that I lose my appetite after taking them even if I have not eaten yet. My girlfriend claimed it does not work but after I quit using it when she was visiting over the holidays, she begged me to start taking it again.
For the pains that have you doubled over, I used to use GasX. That usually did the trick for me but I don't have to use it except maybe once a year. You know that meal of a half a pizza with extra cheese, doritos, and that banana split that you need to kinda melt to fit into your already stuffed stomache.

I need to go to that Eckerd and buy some Zantac.... and softer toilet paper. Ouch.

LOL bidets are great, although I've never used one. They shoot water up your @$$ LOL. I'm sure it feels good.
