Problem is... all the areas of the country that have the natural resources for human life to exist (like water, air, energy) are located where it's kinda hot and sticky and the people are kinda yucky and they voted for Donald Trump.

Oh, well, fuck it.... I'm moving to Los Angeles. I'm gonna be a star.

Majority of the places in the USA have FAAAAAAAAR worse natural disasters and more frequently than the LA area. One of the many reasons why it's so desirable to live there.

like what? pretty much every other "natural" disaster the US has you can see coming from a week away besides tornados and statistically those are no more likely to kill you than a random earthquake

Yet hundreds of people die each year in hurricanes, blizzards, floods, tornadoes...and stupidity. (that one creeps up on you...) :p

Then there's the Canadian Shield. Underrated area where pretty much no natural disasters happen. :p

No earthquakes or volcanoes, but half of it gets about 20 feet of snow a year.

Oh, yeah, plus it's in Canada, so major points deduction there.

Don't live there, never will. I'm illegal as soon as I cross the border (My CCW has a 15 round magazine), so I'll never visit either.
You're missing a lot. I'd never live there either (trapped between ocean and mountains with 18 million of my closest friends, shudder) but it's a great place to visit. Sequoias, redwoods, Mono Lake, Lassen, the beach, orcas, whales, condors, Joshua Tree, plus a bunch of places I ain't been yet.

New storm gonna hit Sunday night!

90

A widespread 3 to 6 inches of rain can fall across the San Francisco Bay region and part of the Sacramento Valley through Tuesday, with locally higher amounts possible across the foothills.

“While the storms will bring the risk of mudslides and avalanches, the greatest threat to lives and property will be from flooding,” AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Alex Sosnowski said.

^^ That's not good. Fires burned a big chuck of the Los Padres NF above along Big Sur.

Won't visit b/c you can't bring your gun? That's sad. L.A. is a great place to visit.

Los Angeles is still there as is Orange County and San Diego along with the entire inland empire. It is as awesome as ever and we have beautiful snow on the mountains.

The air is probably clean enough to actually see those mountains for once as well.

LA has nothing I can't live without. My firearm goes everywhere I go (except certain buildings, mostly federal). It's illegal in all of California though, so I can think of zero reason to disarm just for that state.

Honestly, I despise the politics of both the people who run the state and most of its population. I can live without those places and objects. I'm a Texan and I don't visit Houston, DFW and try to never be in San Antonio for more than the hour or so it takes to drive through it, because the Californians are tying to turn those cities into mini-Calis.

Hey man, if your life is so centered around having guns with > 10 rounds available before reloading, by all means stay the fuck out of CA.

Yeah, some fucked up shit. Better to be scared and ignorant.

We did a little road trip from Vegas to San Diego a couple years ago and went through Joshua Tree. It's incredibly beautiful up there. Not as majestic as Yosemite, but hardly any people which helps a LOT.

I always roll my eyes and laugh at the morons who live in tormado alley or hurricane central, but say "I could never live in California. OMG! EARTHQUAKES!"
Having a tornado cellar is a way of life. LA has low probability but catastrophic tail risks. The type you don't see coming but wipe you out.
