No this is typical of droughts. No water forever and then a useless deluge of water that floods everything and doesn't absorb into the ground water very well.LA needs every drop of the rain. It's been too dry for many, many years.
lulzFire season => construction season => mud slide season => construction season => fire season
99% of it just goes to the ocean. Here in Southern California we will need every drop of rain we can get.
The fun part is that the heaviest part is supposed to hit during the evening commute. Glad I don't work in LA. It would take forever to get home tonight.
There are a few empty reservoirs around. One is near my work. Nothing in them, not even the rain it collected on it's own. Drained out. WTF mate.I see these kinds of comments all the time. Where will you collect it? I'm normally 100% in favor of building dams, be it for flood control, water reservoirs, and/or power generation, but where? Keep in mind, SoCal tends to be pretty earthquake-rich... What land will you flood? Will you take it away from the citizens who already own it and farm it? Will you take it away from some big business entity who maybe has a factory on it? Will you displace entire towns built in the valley you want to flood?
It's not as easy as saying, "OMG! They're letting all that rain run into the ocean!"
Majority of the places in the USA have FAAAAAAAAR worse natural disasters and more frequently than the LA area. One of the many reasons why it's so desirable to live there.Everybody told you guys it would.
They have like "1,000 ways LA is doomed by natural disaster" TV shows on history channel talking non-stop about what terrible terrain the city is situated in. I wouldn't live in that overpriced Pompeii.
I always roll my eyes and laugh at the morons who live in tormado alley or hurricane central, but say "I could never live in California. OMG! EARTHQUAKES!"Majority of the places in the USA have FAAAAAAAAR worse natural disasters and more frequently than the LA area. One of the many reasons why it's so desirable to live there.

Don't we have a guy here that can predict earthquakes?Well, in all fairness, you can see those coming and get to a safe place.

LA washing away wouldn't be much of a loss. And LA people need to stop whining. It's either "We're too dry!!!" or "We're too wet" or "It's too smoggy" or "We're on fire!".
Hooray! Now, if only the rest of Commiefornia will follow LA into the ocean.
