It does seem really strange that the mistress would leak these.
Was it the wife?

What does the mistress have to gain? Spite seems unlikely, but could be the reason.
I don't see how she could get anything from a civil suit.

It certainly seems like she was baiting him.

Honestly though, this story reeks of phoney outrage, much like a lot of the racial scandals that come out. I've met more than enough people who claimed to detest racism as humanity's greatest evil, but would drop p-bombs at the drop of the hat if some Indian guy was rude to them. The same folks who want others fired for doing the same thing. At the end of the day, does it really matter what some old man thinks.

She's currently being sued by his wife for stealing millions, so, no, she isn't getting paid to be with him (anymore).

I like how they say stealing, he gave it to her. So he is being a fucking idiot also. Its going to be interesting to see how it turns out, since its considered community property.

She's definitely had plastic surgery.

Looks fairly disgusting.

What little I heard on the call, where she plaintively says, "why don't you like minorities, what's wrong with them" makes it fairly obvious that she is recording the call and is leading him on to say stupid things.

Entrapment and illegal wiretapping, case dismissed.

I have a feeling a very solvent Sterling will lawyer up for a fight. Think about it, without a lawsuit, he'll be forced to pay taxes on a team sale. I don't believe the NBA thought this through, OR they assume there won't be minimum 75% of votes available to force a sale.

Also an eighty year-old man would pay 50% estate taxes upon death. Suddenly his 1B team (which was meant for inheritance) is now worth 1/4th.

The NBA is telling the squeaky wheels what they want to hear, while the outcome likely will be totally different.

I guess the chick plans on releasing a book soon that will not be about Sterling. Ok, then what exactly is it going to be about?

I've finally mustered sufficient care about this happening to post. I haven't mustered sufficient care to respond with a bucket of wisdom so this is the post you get. Some might cry "Neff!" but I cry "Yeah, whatever!"

Being a former basketball billionaire is way better than not being a billionaire at all.

Sometimes in life you just have to ask yourself, would you give an 80 year old man head for 1.8 million dollars?

And I'm not like her, my morals are very tight (in case you're reading this mr. sterling.)

/edit: and btw, $1.8m is just the condo she received...there's the cash, the ferrari...I want it all.

The sad part is about 90% or more of those jumping on Sterling, had no idea who the fuck the guy was until a few days ago.

I am not defending the guy at all for most of the stuff he has said, however; he was a WELL KNOWN RACIST for 10+ years now. They sad part is it's taken dudes and women sympathetic to what is at best a GOLD DIGGER/BLACKMAILIST to finally go internet batshit crazy over this.

In reality, the phone conversation was not so much of his girlfriend hanging out with black people as hanging out with the 'thug type/crazy crowd'.

I swear if she was hanging with Icy Hot Stuntaz type looking white guys (and apparently this chick only likes white guys when they are RICH so she is racist herself), he'd have the same heart to heart with her.

IMHO he was being polite about it on the phone. He never dropped N bombs and the like.

People have a right not to want to associate with a type of people. It's not illegal.

Plus his payroll has made a lot of those MINORITIES very rich people.

This was a lynching in my opinion. They know he is getting up in age and want to see that team go to "Friends and Family", not Sterling's next of kin.

I guarantee you would.

I guarantee most would here even if it was something that ended up being broadcast.

It's no different than a guy picking up the last chick at the bar for some easy sex and he is not getting paid shit for that.

The contents of that book would be "Be an attractive young woman with loose morals at literally any point in human history," and then 300 blank pages.

The awesome thing is she wasn't really all that attractive in the whole scheme of all women.

This stuff goes on everyday though.

I live 5 mins from Palm Beach (the Island, not the entire county) and Manalapan...seriously old dudes with women that nearly qualify for supermodels (and sometime are supermodels) getting really frisky with them at times.

Too many guys hate this, but fuck at 80+ years old those same guys would wish they had that level of poontang in their bed as well.

Most who follow the nba know he was for the longest time always referred to as the 'worst owner in sports'. I've heard racist things about him but knew little of the depth that it went to. I think much of this is karma, along with the fact that he is a racist douchebag. Not a single person I've heard came forward to defend him, outside of his apparent very racist wife. Karma's a b!tch. This was not just the right action to take, it was the right opportunity to completely wash ones hands of him, who's been little more than a stain on the league for years (and much less.)

NAACP wants meeting with Silver to pretend they aren't full of sh!t

WASHINGTON -- Several civil rights organizations applauding the NBA for its lifetime ban of Clippers owner Donald Sterling because of racist comments the league says he made in a recorded conversation.

However, those groups still want to meet with NBA commissioner Adam Silver to discuss diversity in the executive ranks of the professional basketball league and to figure out ways to ensure such situations don't happen again.

One way to see that it doesn't happen again is to avoid propping up a known racist and bigot by giving him a lifetime achievement award for helping blacks in the same year he settles a multi-million dollar lawsuit for trying to force blacks out of his buildings. Its time for the NAACP to thoroughly STFU and admit it was part of the problem and is whore for cash.

I am curious but I wasn't able to find a definite answer searching, does anyone know who actually is the Board of Governors for the NBA? Is it just every owner or are there any other members?

Just the owners, but it doesn't have to be the owners themselves; it can be a representative that they appoint in their place.

Yeah that part is kind of weird to me. Pretty much any organization from the largest to the smallest reserves the right to expel members for violating whatever codes of conduct they may have, but when it comes to ownership of something I'm not sure what's legal. I wouldn't be surprised if the procedure in case of such an eventuality is buried somewhere in the paperwork owners have to sign to be part of the league though.

It's in the NBA Constitution and By-Laws

Here is the part that deals with what happens if the owners were to vote to terminate his ownership (defined as membership in the constitution)

ARTICLE 14A
CONSEQUENCES OF TERMINATION
(a) When the Membership of a Member is terminated,
such Member and its assets, properties and operations shall be placed
under the management and control of the Commissioner, who shall
have the following powers: to cause the Member’s Team to continue to
play its Exhibition, Regular Season, and Playoff Games; to collect all
revenues from every source payable to the Member and apply such
revenues, to the extent available, to the payment of such Member’s
debts and obligations; and, as directed by a majority of the Board of
Governors (the Member whose Membership was terminated not being
considered a Member of the Board of Governors for the purposes of
this Article), either to transfer such Member’s Membership (including
its Player Contracts and other assets) in accordance with and subject to
Article 5 or to liquidate the Player Contracts and other assets of the

Member in an orderly manner in the best interests of the Member and
its creditors, and the Association, in each case at such prices and on
such terms as the Commissioner shall deem reasonable and appropriate.
(b) When the interest of any Owner is terminated, that
interest shall, unless the Commissioner has approved an alternative
arrangement, be placed under the management and control of the
Commissioner, who shall have the power to exercise all of the rights
otherwise exercisable by the Owner of that interest, including, but not
limited to, any management or voting rights and the right to transfer all
or any portion of that interest in accordance with and subject to Article
5 at such prices and on such terms as the Commissioner shall deem
reasonable and appropriate.
(c) All proceeds from any transfer of a Member’s
Membership or the liquidation of its Player Contracts and other assets,
or of an Owner’s interest in a Member, shall be applied first to
discharge the liabilities and obligations to all creditors of the Member
(or Owner), including the Association and its Members but excluding
any Owner of the Member, second to discharge the liabilities and
obligations to any Owner of the Member, and any balance shall be
remitted to the Member (or Owner). The existence or implementation
of this Article 14A shall not impose upon the Association or any of its
Members any requirement to provide funds to any Member (or Owner)
or any liability for any debts or obligations of any Member (or Owner).

Sterling will not suffer much. It's a money grab though and he is 80 with even more money coming to him in this along with the $2 Billion he is sitting on.

Typical politicians jumping on this. Why the hell did the city of LA need a press conference on this? This is freaking basketball, the city has nothing to do with it.
