But you're missing my point. If the person you represent in public is who you are in private, then you should be fine with that person getting out(unless someone tried to twist your words).
This is just nonsensical. Everyone has private thoughts that they don't want anyone to know. Almost everyone has petty jealousies, feelings of inadequacy, strange sexual fantasies, negative thoughts about friends and loved ones. Almost everyone has prejudices, even though their "higher" self knows that it's unfair.

According to you, people should openly air all of these negative traits. People should display to the world everything they know is bad about themselves.

This is an insanely stupid attitude, because we know we'll suffer for this "honesty." We know we'll alienate our friends and family. We'll lose our jobs. It doesn't matter that everyone else is just as bad; only those who "honestly" reveal their bad qualities will be punished.

As I wrote in an earlier post: People should be judged by their actions, not by their words.

No, because telling someone who they can bring to a game isn't the same as actually banning them from a game.

Unless you act on your words, they're just words....

Why do you think Mark Cuban doesn't believe he should be kicked out necessarily? Because, he understands the difference between thoughts and actions.

What if someone is an atheist, and doesn't believe Christians should attend games? Should Christian owners use that as reason to vote him out? You really need to understand the difference between having a personal belief, and acting out that belief.

You cannot see beyond race. All you're focusing on is a white man saying something racist about blacks.

Simple question. All the white people who disagree with you, are they also focusing on just the racist saying something about blacks?

His private thoughts became public actions when he stupidly let that tape be made and disseminated. People have been getting fired and fined for private actions less egregious than this one as far back as memory can serve.

If someone is an atheist and it becomes public that he doesn't believe Christians should attend games, then yes I believe the owners should vote him out. Simply because he is an idiot for letting those views be known and those views are wrong, people will think they are wrong and will stop coming to the games and that will take money away from their pockets.

What you seem not to grasp, is that he has a right to think whatever the hell he wants. And people have a right not to support someone who thinks that or support someone who thinks that. When people don't support that person, and that person owns an NBA team how do you think that affects the money the other owners make?

You don't believe in him being kicked out so what is your argument then?

I said I never "disagreed with him being kicked out" which means, I agree the their desicsion to kick him out.

You're obviously a dumbass because you cannot understand a clear statement.

Go get a clue, or pay attention.

You are conflating so many things in ur post. Private thoughts, public actions public thoughts.... You did see the part where I put (unless someone tried to twist your words). Here's a riddle for you, is it a private thought if you share it with someone?

So because you fear other's reactions you fear being honest about who you are? That's probably something you should discuss with your counselor.

You agree with him being kicked out but you also agree with Mark Cuban who doesn't think he should be kicked out? There must be 2 retro Bob's in this thread.

You're a dumbass, plain and simple.

I didn't say I agreed with Cuban, I shared his statements to show the difference between thoughts and actions.

For the record, Sterling should be gone.

Why don't you put more effort into reading instead of trying to catch me in a contradiction?

You're doing a good job of making yourself look completely incompetent.

You're clearly missing a few brain cells there buddy. Here we go. Take a minute and write out in a couple of clear concise statements what your argument is. It might help you focus. lol

Funny thing. Sterling has yet to claim that he didn't know about being taped.

One would think that if he hadn't known at the time he would have reported this lawbreaking to the authorities and an arrest warrant or 2 would have been issued for the girlfriend and her lawyer.

1.) Do you conclusively know he didn't know? Hint.. Google it first.

2.) If you are sleeping with a gold digger who entraps you into saying stupid ish that will most likely make you lose your team. It is your fault. EOL.

Or if he had known he would have stopped taking. We can go either way until something solid comes out.

I don't "know", that's why I said "if".

You're close to being ignored, because you're either trolling or lack extremely basic reading abilities.

Again, this is nonsense.

It's absolutely clear that it's stupid and self-destructive to share all of your inner thoughts with the world at large. This isn't a phobia or an insecurity; it's a fact. And yet the incident with Sterling teaches us that even sharing your most intimate thoughts with a single person who you think you can trust can end up destroying your life.

Think about it: There are people who are racists in their hearts, but they know that if they reveal themselves to the world at large they'll be severely punished for merely holding these beliefs. Do you think this fear of theirs is irrational? Do you advocate that these people destroy themselves in the name of "showing the world who they really are?"

And yet, surely an "in the closet racist" might want to tell his wife or of few of his most intimate friends what he really believes. Are you saying it's totally fine that we now live in a world where "private speech" is no longer sacrosanct?

I guess it depends on what type of person you are. You either live a lie or you live the truth. It depends on your strength of character and ultimately how fulfilling you want your life to be and what you define fulfilling to be.

Yep, this is obviously a troll. No one is this simple-minded. Enjoy being ignored, by me anyway...

Ah, emperus, the guy who has made it his mission in live to call every other person in existence a racist.

Do you two guys even remember what you are arguing about?

Get that settled asap, we need to get on to the more important task - scouring nba's history for anyone and everyone who has ever had a racist thought, and purge them all from the record books, and for those still alive, issue lifetime bans!

We're an angry mob that's not content with this half-assed purification job Silver is trying to appease us with!

We also need to form more consensuses (aka more angry mobs) on the other morality issues out there
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kobe_Bryant_sexual_assault_case

We don't want to be a discriminating angry mob, all morality issues deserve equal attention, it's only fair. Lotsa work to do, lots of late sleepless nights ahead. But we're doing the right thing. Nobody wants a rapist out on the court any more than they want a racist out there, we must protect the fans.

Pppsst! Hey, look here... I see a big "if"....

Come, check it out! This is earth-shattering:

Tell me something: how can he "let the tape be made and disseminated" if he didn't know he was being recorded?

You're a dumbass, plain and simple.

Let me rephrase that sentence for you?

If he didn't know he was being recorded, how can he "let the tape be made and disseminated".

You're a dumbass, plain and simple

You are claiming that the "if" in that sentence does what again? Lol..

No wonder I can't understand the point you are making. You don't understand the words you are using.

Google "the usages of "if"" and you'll see how ridiculous you sound.

One more time.

I said this:
His private thoughts became public actions when he stupidly let that tape be made and disseminated. People have been getting fired and fined for private actions less egregious than this one as far back as memory can serve.
You said this (there is the if in question):
Tell me something: how can he "let the tape be made and disseminated" if he didn't know he was being recorded?
You're a dumbass, plain and simple
I said this:
1.) Do you conclusively know he didn't know? Hint.. Google it first.

2.) If you are sleeping with a gold digger who entraps you into saying stupid ish that will most likely make you lose your team. It is your fault. EOL.
And you followed it up with this:
I don't "know", that's why I said "if".

You're close to being ignored, because you're either trolling or lack extremely basic reading abilities.
Do you now see that that "if" doesn't mean what you think it means? The context of your quotes should be a hint.

If the NBA CBA is similar to how other sports handle the selling and buying of a franchise, every current owner of the rest of the teams will collect a nice little sum of money due to the fee paid for the transfer of ownership.

IIRC, Sterling bought the Clippers for 10 to 12 million, and stands to sell for $500 million according to some estimates. The selling of a professional sports team is usually how most of the profit is made.

Not sure I am 100% comfortable with someone fired or forced to sell a company or team based on something said in what he assumed to be private.

Had he been allowed to keep the team, the subsequent shaming and ostracizing which then forces him to sell and leave in shame seems more fitting. Never happen, I know.
