This story seems so screwed up

(1) Apparently actual discrimination against Black/Hispanic tenants is fine. But where the line is drawn is a secretly recorded argument with your gf. o_O

(2) Assuming the tape is legit. Apparently its okay for him to be seen with black people, just not okay for his gf

(3) Since she is 1/2 black how exactly does she avoid posting instagrams of black people? :hmm:

(4) The story makes it seem like his current gf, yet apparently his family is suing her o_O

I can see plenty of situations where it would be in the NBA's best interest to truly punish him. It seems likely that the league can find other willing buyers for the team, so perhaps a forced sale is in order. My guess is that the owners won't want to set that sort of precedent for themselves, but there's certainly a case to be made it's in the league's best interests to do so.

The NBA's charter, as well as anti-trust laws, would prevent them for forcing him to sell or seizing the team. The worst they can do is suspend him.

I read there may be a provision in the charter that could allow the other owners to force him to sell. But, I also read the charter is secret so no one really knows that is in it. Either could be wrong. But that is what I read on ESPN.

The only one that pathetic is you. Between arguing for weeks when proven wrong to throwing the race card/accusing people of being racist at every given moment.

It is secret, but the word has always been that it would be matters of financial concern that would allow the forced sale, not something like this. I would be shocked if that weren't the case.

Forcibly removing Sterling from the NBA is unlikely to happen. The NBA’s constitution, which is confidential, reportedly contains language permitting owners to authorize the league to sell a team without an owner’s consent. The language, SI.com is told, only covers very limited circumstances and these circumstances concern team finances — namely, when an owner can’t pay his bills.

There is reportedly no language authorizing the NBA to sell a team because of an owner’s hurtful remarks or embarrassing behavior. Even if constitutional language could be construed to authorize a forced sale of the Clippers, NBA owners would likely be reluctant to do so given the precedent it would set.

When the tape has been authenticated and proven to be him, I will then call him a racist and fully expect sanctions against him to be imposed.
