First of all, there is no such thing as "undocumented". You are either LEGAL or ILLEGAL.
Secondly, no one is asking them to sneak in here, broke our immigration law, and then have the nerve to demand amnesty.
Gotta love this:
Look at the bolded and underlined parts. Anyone see anything wrong that that? All I see and hear is "give me..give me.. not fair". I do not see anything about responsibility, follow the law, and learn English.
LEGAL = si.
ILLEGAL = no.
Comprende? Gracias.

"We have to give them the opportunity if they want to be citizens," says Gomez, who also serves as the chairman of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops' Committee on Migration. "If…they don't have the opportunity, then we will create a permanent underclass in our society, which is not fair, and it's not the American way."

All you need to read from this article to realize the archbiship has a fundamental misunderstanding of the issue is the third paragraph:
>"We have to give them the opportunity if they want to be citizens," says Gomez,
They already HAVE that opportunity, just like everyone who wants to come into this country, to follow the long-established, LEGAL procedure for becoming a citizen.
>"If…they don't have the opportunity, then we will create a permanent underclass in our society,
No; THEY CHOOSE this illegal path on their own. ILLEGAL immigrants create that underclass THEMSELVES.
>which is not fair, and it's not the American way."
The American way is not about fairness, nor equality of outcome or standing. It is about the PURSUIT of happiness, not its guarantee
