Some shockwave games require 3d support.
Sadly, seems I can't get this card to work, which is a shame. I'll probably just bide my time for a few months and get an upgrade and convince myself it was "high time" anyway. No CS and no Morrowind should help my study habits over the next few weeks, anyway. =)
I tried pulling my card out and installing it in a Thunderbird 1.3 GHz Win2K Professional Ed. System of my friend's, but the drivers wouldn't load - being stuck with 640x480 and default VGA adapter sucks. I almost think it's some kind of physical defect with the card, but the results are too random...
I didn't mean to start an argument between pro and anti Kyro users on the board. If my post stirred up any trouble, then I apologize. I got the card after reading Anandtech's excellent review, and so far, despite my troubles, I don't regret it. I guess this time it's just more of a question of matching a system to the card than matching a card to my system.
On another note, anyone have any advice for a good vid card in (or eventually falling in) the 100 dollar range within the next month or two? Not looking for anything fancy, just something with decent longetivity and compatibility with XP.
Thanks!
