there isnt a "cure" for cancer. its not like you can take some pill and it magically goes away.
Cancer in the breast is traditionally treated using one or more of the following ways:
1) ressection - surgical removal of the lump and surrounding tissue
2) radiation therapy - blast with huge amounts of radiation to kill it. (<- my research)
3) chemotherapy - heavy cocktail of different drugs. almost never used alone.
For something like her breast cancer, she'll likely get it removed surgically (easy access to breast tissue) and then get some chemo. For some folks, they have to remove the entire breast and lymph nodes and a large portion of the muscles in the area. Imagine this, she will either 1) have one fake boob and one real boob, or 2) she'll be missing one boob entirely.

i think they are more hereditary if it strikes at a younger age.
remember...most of us will die from either heart disease or cancer. it's not a rare disease at all.

The real shame is how little money is invested in research for prostrate cancer.
A man can reproduce till the die he dies, a woman and her breasts are basically useless and pretty ugly once menopause hits.. which disease would we be better off finding a cure for ? I'd say it's prostrate cancer.
they(the big pharmceutical companies) probably already have a cure on their shelves, just want others to suffer so they can make tons of $$$ on treatments that just keep people alive. with all the technology we have today with distributed computing and science, it is obvious they learned their lesson when they cured polio.
