I do agree that this has been blown completely out of proportion. After rereading his message, I think he's trying to be clever more than anything. It's one of those 'too stupid to realize he's being offensive' situations.


Nonetheless, you're pretty quick to jump to his aid there southpawuni. What exactly has he said or done to show his class, exactly?

I find if funny that all the Nvidiots here are on the 'Kyle is a saint and nothing he says is offensive' boat. I agree with his beef with ATI too, but you have to admit that he's reaching with this comment...

I find this akin to those funny 'Bushisms' that GWB often spouts when he attempts to spontaneously come up with something competent (and/or clever) to say, and ends up either insulting his target audience or getting it completely wrong. This looks like a Kyleism - he just doesn't know what to say so he comes up with a stupid analogy - 'canuck promises' .

^ Was that last comment offensive? I think it sounds fairly offensive myself, even though I don't really associate yankee as a very derogatory term. The point is that if you look at this in reverse, it sounds offensive, so I don't think 'canuck promises' is exactly the PC thing to say either.

Just food for thought - try switching the argument on your own 'group' and see how offensive/inoffensive it seems.

I saw Kyle Bennet one time on The Screensavers (back when Leo and Patrick were the hosts) It's pretty bad when Leo had to tell Kyle what socket an AMD Athlon 64 was on! (when they first came out, it was socket 754)...Leo had to tell him! He didnt know!

Oh and one more thing, Kyle and others slap the term 'politically correct' on anyone who they think is unable to tell the 'real' truth. The truth that Kyle is going to tell us. **bows and scapes to the mighty Kyle**

I am quite capable of handling facts without his hand holding my way through it so that I can see things from his 'correct' view and I'm glad to see so many people in this forum feel the same way. 🙂
