Kuwait says oil prices aren't so bad...

"OPEC's president Sheikh Ahmad al-Fahd al-Sabah said on Saturday oil prices were approaching a level acceptable to both consumers and producers after recent decreases."

Is he serious? These prices may be great for sheiks in Kuwait, but I think the average consumer is not all that happy. But we need to get off the oil crack sooner rather than later, so maybe a little catharsis isn't a bad thing. Thanks sheiky.

No shizz. It's probably free for all consumers in his country.

We should be getting free oil from them, since we booted saddam out of there for them.

$42 per barrel would indeed be nice. Not too long ago, $47 was "ridiculous" to you! 😉

Oil down to a still ridiculous $47 a barrel.

I actually don't mind them at $2/gal. I can handle a $30 tank of Premium every 3 weeks if it discourages people from buying so many SUVs.

Hey, $47 would be nice now, but it's still ridiculous! 🙂

kuwait actually offered the u.s 500million barrels of oil during katrina. They are nice to the U.S.

If you have a problem with gas prices then blame the gas companies. Look at exxonmobil's profits.

NO, Oil should be $100 barrel and gas at least $6 to stop SUV madness.

Only if the US government (or proactive states) were collecting the revenue. Although it would violate the WTO agreements, could you imagine DOE/DOT/NHTSA working with domestic automakers to spend $20B each year in research, development, and infrastructure for diesel, biodiesel, hybrids, and yes . . . hydrogen vehicles?!

Not only would we have lighter, stronger, and faster cars they would also be more fuel efficient and less polluting. Naturally, the rest of the world would be dying to buy American cars . . . assuming we do something about long-term reliability . . . say build the cars in Japan.😉

Absolutely, elect me and the word SUV (ones that get 8 mpg) and Gasoline stations would only be words in History books.

It's pretty apparent they turned that $500 million in free oil into $9 billion in profit, while raping the American Sheeple, especially the ones that could afford it least in the Hurricane stricken areas themselves.

It's sick, sadistic and unfortunately the new American Republican way. 🙁

same.... i get ~25mpg and drive very little, so it barely affects me at all...

High gas prices are a good thing in the long run - the comsumer shift to more efficent cars should spur more R&D in that field.

If you were paying attention lately, you would see that 3/gas is enought to put a large dent in suv sales.

LOL

Then you'd complain that poor people couldn't afford gas! Oh wait, you already have been saying that for months. Liberals love chasing their tails; makes them look like fools.

How is that the problem with the US and how is that going to save it? Nobody likes a dictator and that's why nobody will elect you.

Why is it that we get to dictate what other people sell their product for? The oil belongs to other people, so who are we to tell them to give it to us for nothing??

I love how people blame SUV's for the problem... like no other vehicle gets poor gas mileage.

If my car were to get ONE mile more per gallon, it would save me... $2.25 per fillup. At two fillups a month, it only costs me an extra $4.50. Hardly enough to change my spending habits or shift to a more efficient car.

If you were paying attention lately, you would see that $3+ gas is enough to put a large dent in suv sales.

Bahahahahahaha ,you and the rest of Republicans in here kept saying that's impossible and would not happen until gas hit at least $6 a gallon.

What happened? You guys lied???

All I have ever said is that when gas gets high enough, people will stop buying them. I never stated what gas would be at that point.

Simple economics dave..

Yeah sure. So are you shocked that it only took $3 gallon level to cause this shift?

Sure puts a dent on you and the rest of the Republicans in here that Americans are doing the best ever in over 30 years and the higher prices are good for them, the GDP and don't matter.
