Ive been using creatine mono for awhile and today while at the vitamin shop some guy was trying to get to start using Kre Alkalyn stating that it is easier on the kidneys and doesnt cause you to retain water.

That being said, I started looking it up and dont know if it is to good to be true. Ive seen stuff that says that you only need to take the days you will workout, not everyday like you should with creatine mono. Also, no need to cycle off (which that debate is like 50/50). Anyone use this? Or have more information? I know a lot of what is out there is pushed by the makers of it so I dont really want to believe it all.

It's marketing BS. Creatine has a ton of research behind it. Kre Alkalyn has one article, which was done by the company itself. The logic behind it doesn't really work either. Only a certain amount of creatine can be absorbed within the cells, which is why most people load. You don't have to cycle normal creatine either and research has shown no risk to kidneys. Stick with the original.

Thanks SC, I kind of thought that.

SC, Well put!

Ya, Creatine is the only thing that I have found to be proven effective by many studies and safe to consume. I have seen studies that show up to 20 grams a day as being safe for consumption and that is way more than anyone needs to take.

10 grams a day for the first week (optional, can just do 5 grams) and 5 grams a day from there on out.

To be clear, you want Creatine Monohydrate! None of the blends that are for sale.

OP you should look into Creapure Creatine Monohydrate, it mixes better and I've read the body absorbs it slightly better. Regular Monohydrate's great, but for a few cents a serving more I'd go with the Optimum Nutrition Creatine. I have some Dymatize, it doesn't mix at all for me, in my blender cup I can shake for a minute straight and there's still a ton of residue left. I now just put 5g of the powder directly in my mouth and wash it down with water. Thank goodness it's unflavored :D The Beast Creatine's another you can look into, if you want something that mixes a lot better and tastes good. It's citrus flavored. While not cheap it's a killer product.

Ive been doing that since I am loading right now. I dont feel like using my shaker cups just for a quick dose of creatine.
