KOTOR Online

Nice but where is the interview? Sorry but I don't trust blogs to be accurate with news unless they can provide some authentic verification as to the source of their claims.

Well, I do believe this will be a giant can of SUCK, with the only result being the sullied good name of Knights Of The Old Republic.

MMO? Ughh.

The best PC developer in the world could make a MMORPG and it would still be mindless grind and not even 1% RPG. Oh wait, they already did (World of Warcraft), and yes, it's mindless grind and not even a RPG.

Sweet, hopefully they will do it right. I would like a good modern Star Wars MMORPG.

Yep,SWG Pre CU was awesome nothing came close, sad NGE really messed it up and killed the game.

The difference being Bioware is a PC roleplaying game developer. Has Blizzard ever made an game with "roleplaying" in it? 😉
Diablo is considered to be an RPG, but it seems to be little more than a third person shooter with stats, levels, classes, and clicking. I am not saying that Diablo is not fun... spent many hours in it myself.

Bioware has a list of excellent roleplaying games that have loads of dialog interaction, character development and great stories that allow you to seamlessly immerse yourself into the character that you are playing.

Today, two-thirds of the game industry is console systems and dedicated handhelds. "We expect in 2011 for it to be fifty-percent," Riccitiello said.

Wow! EA expects the PC gaming market to be equal to all the consoles and handhelds combined in three years. Maybe if that happens, it will put an end to all the idiotic "PC gaming is dying" thread.

Wow what a load of **** . EA have destroyed one of the best franchises going round if there is a Kotor MMO- needless to say I am annoyed at this. We don't want generic MMO number 1987383, if they want a success keep doing what the last two Kotor games have done and stick to the same formula not this crap. Gosh I hate EA....

They (Bioware) opened a new office in Texas to develop it as to not take resources away from the rest of the company. The only people that can prevent another single player RPG KOTOR would be Lucas Arts. I would not be surprised if Lucas Arts forced this next KOTOR game to be an MMORPG, since SW: Galaxies has declined....

A single player KOTOR 3 would be more like EA's style than a KOTOR MMORPG since MMORPGs cost tons of money to develop (when done correctly) versus a single player game that they could pump out to make quick and easy money using the KOTOR franchise name milking.

Well there goes the KOTOR franchise. I don't see how this can be pulled off. The whole point to KOTOR was being one of the most absolute badass/powerful Jedi ever, and then kicking a lot of ass however you saw fit. This cannot happen with a MMO, at least not in the traditional sense.

MMO fans might like it, and it might even be a decent MMO game, but one this is sure if this is true and our fears really are coming ture - its going to be a shitty KOTOR game.

I really hope this is a false rumor. I really, really hope. I will not be playing a KOTOR MMO. I was really looking forward to a 3rd installment, but not in MMO form. KOTOR isn't compatible in any way with MMO gameplay!

I hope they learn for their mistakes,if they had listened to the SWG community SWG would of never died.

I have mixed feelings about another MMORPG especially after SWG.

I can't trust another MMORPG after wasting my time grinding out 28 professions to get a Jedi and then watch SOE wipe it all away.

Screw this crap, I'm a going home.

I don't know why they don't just stick to KOTOR single players series, maybe throw in expansion packs like Morrowind/Oblivion have,if any game could do with an expansion pack KOTOR 2 would be at the top of the list.

I totally agree with this - not everyone can be uber in an mmo. If they are, the bar for "uber" changes.

So the early rumors of a BioMMO were true, many speculated this would be the outcome once they announced the Bioware + LucasArts partnership. This might have been a driving factor for joining EA as well. MMOs require tons of capital

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Bioware has definitely heavily emphasized voice acting in their past games, but for an MMO I'd think this would have to be more like BG with limited voice acting and more text compared to newer titles like ME or KOTOR. AoC actually had a ton of voice acting in the beginning but it quickly tapered off and was noticeably missing in later stages. Plus the voice acting wasn't great to begin with.
