Their "sale" prices are pretty good, and much of their stuff is brand-name... Dockers, Columbia, etc. I get a lot of my polos there. I also get a lot of shoes there, usually on clearance for ~$12.

Last year I think I bought shot glasses and some other barware.

This year I walk into the store and just...ugh. This store is so worthless. They stock five times as many SKUs as they need to. And it's all junk. Who buys this sh!t?? The clothes are wretched. I went to look at luggage....it's all ballistic nylon.

This store just seems like a far crappier version of a SuperTarget, minus the foods. It took me half an hour to find something to spend my $30 on, and it ended up being a wok and a griddle. I mean really, does anyone shop at this store and can they provide any insight as to why this store is better than something like Target, which seems to sell the same kind of merchandise, only better designed...
here's an idea, don't shop at Kohls.

They do not sell hard drives, motherboards, and DVDs, so I do not like that store.

That being said my sister and my mother love Kohls because they have clothes cheaper then other department stores.

Kohl's clearence rack keeps my kid clothed. :)

I buy cargo pants for work there, as well. They have gone somewhat downhill in the past couple of years, though, in terms of getting very gimmicky with their non-clothing items.

Perhaps you should inform your grandmother of what kind of clothes you prefer, and she'll get something for you that you actually like. :p

Not really, my favorite labels are along the lines of Perry Ellis, Lacoste, and Polo, and Kohl's doesnt carry _any_ of these brands. I think they carry polo golf or some sh!t, but the clothes are not as trendy as I would like.

I don't think they carry Armani :/ that's a little riduclous. Most of Kohl's stuff is priced in the $10-$30 article range at all times throughout the year, regardless of what the 'sale' price is. The inflated MSRP bullsh!t is a little annoying too.

I don't find Dockers, St John's and Haggar particularily impressive. The fits are cut for larger people, I need to get my clothes in 'modern fit' etc., which Kohl's offers none of. Dillards/Nordstroms are my typical targets for my shopping...

well aren't you a label snob...

Hah, yeah... you have to understand the demographics Kohl's appeals to, it's not the same as Macy's/Bloomingdale's/Neiman Marcus/Lord & Taylor/whatever other department stores where you can pay $200 for a shirt.

At very least you can find some socks or underwear to spend your money on at Kohl's. Who can't use more socks and underwear?

He doesn't really choose to shop there (well, I suppose he chooses between having shirts he'll never wear and shopping there), so telling him not to shop there doesn't make much sense.

Most of kohl's sucks, but it's good for Levi's jeans and a couple of shirts/sweaters once in a while. A good 90% of the men's stuff in there is hideous, but they are pretty good for basic dress clothes and maybe one-two normal shirts in any given shopping season.

Kohls is great.

If you need dress pants/shirts/ties they have great sales.

Also they have some really nice kitchen and bath items.

One of the big reasons they do well is they send out discounts ALL THE TIME to their kohls charge customers.

Usually a 15% off or more coupon and you can stack it on their sales and other special prices.

bought a couple of pants and jeans there for work, not too shabby for the price. They do need a better selection of new stuff, most of it is targeted towards 50-year olds

And it's great when every month or so yiou get a coupon in the mail for 15%, 20% or 30% off every item you buy for a whole day. SO you can shop, give it to your friends, let them go shop, and keep passing it on.

I always buy Reeboks there because they are cheaper than anywhere else. The only jeans I wear are Sonoma Jeans and Kohls has them for cheap. We shop there quite often. But Kohls Corporate HQ is like 5 minutes from my house so maybe the stores in our area are just way better than others...

Been there plenty. Nothin' more than another Mervyn's.

In fact.........as Kohl's was becoming the Wall Street darling, I'd have been pissed IIW Mervyn's as they pretty much had the west coast wrapped up before Kohl's came to town.

Kohl's is just fine. If you really need a Nordstorm's & you can actually call out labels you like, then you're just too "OC" for the average crowd.

As mentioned before.......if Dockers aren't cut right for you, then you have issues.

You need to move to Orange County if you don't live there already and start to associate yourselves with those who look down the end of their nose at even the specialty stores on Fashion Island.

"Oh my gosh........like..........she was like........soooooo done up not Laguna. It's like........she was like...........sooooo..........Mission Viejo!!"

i work register at a Kohls and i really dont have an opinion on the prices. i walked into a macy's one day and they were selling the same sweaters for $60 where at kohls they were $30.

i do know they are currently marking down winter stuff so it's %80 off. shirts and sweaters that were 20-40 are now 11 and below. maybe they're all dumb but customers wont stop talking about how much they love the prices.

oh and p.s. walmart and target sell ******, i have no problem buying items but id never shop there.

Their sale prices are pretty good. My buddy claims to hide the clothes he likes(usually behind other types of clothes that are unlike it), and comes back days/weeks later to get them on sale.
