Although "Gray Market" at one time was a problem, those days are over for cameras. The biggest problem was that the manufacturer would not honor the warranty. You can check with Kodak to be sure, but I know for a fact that others, such as Canon, will give the same service as if the item came with a US warranty, and they have for years. These cameras were built by the manufacturer and sold in huge quantities overseas. If anyone can find "gray market" pricing, it would really help nail down Staples on a PM. Please post all prices that will give a good PM.

Taken from Staple's price matching policy:

<< If Staples.com offers a rebate and after the rebate Staples.com?s price beats the competition, no price guarantee will be given. You will be getting a lower final cost by shopping at Staples.com. (For example, if Staples.com?s price is $89.99 before a $30.00 rebate, so you pay $59.99 after rebate and the competitor?s price is $84.99 without a rebate, there will be no price match.) >>

This could mean trouble for prospecting pricematchers...they might use the after rebate price to match the competitor's before rebate price...has anyone been in this situation before?

If you read this, it states If Staples.com offers a rebate. Staples is not offering the rebate, the manufacturer is. ALL stores are able to offer this rebate, Staples has no monopoly over it. IF they offer their own IN ADDITION, that's another story, but wait until it is presented before you make statements regarding information you clearly are not fully comprehending. Even your closing statement was a direct contradiction of the example that was given.

I have gotten many PM's from Staples on items that offered a manufacturer's rebate.

Yea. Don't see it on the webpage. Can you actually walk into the store and pricematch an online site and give a coupon code also?
Very interested in this camera.

Not the best deal but sub 400 and no PM hassle: Buy from gateway (in stock), apply the 35 off 400 rebate, free shipping, no tax = $495 delivered - kodak mail in $100 = $395.
I had nothing but good experiences buying from gateway so far.

OK, let me get this straight. Regarding HawkeyeNJ's post, you just print out a competitors listed price and take it to Staples B&M and request that they match that price? It can't be that simple, can it? Also, the $40 coupon, is that from a specific website such as techbargains or ableshoppers, etc? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Well the coupon can be found at jumpondeals... but Can you apply this coupon in a B&M Staples?? The coupons are generally for the online purchase...

Very curious how HawkeyeNJ got a Staples B&M to pricematch a online store and accept a coupon.....or..... How he got Staples.com to pricematch on a product that is not on the website.

I'm all ears with a credit card in hand :)

Ok seems there is alot of questions here. I log on and got 10 right off the bat on just what is a B&M alone. So to stop the PMs I will try to make this simple. WITHOUT getting a weeks vacation. Understand ????

First I went to Beach Camera website thanks to reddog1 's post here Found the site then the camera.****EDIT I forgot to mention thatGuy's post of Camerasound.com. Sorry thatGuy good post as a backup if Beach Camera runs out of stock. END of EDIT**** Made the link so ALL can go there 1-2-3 . I printed a FULL copy of the page. I hand wrote down the URL (please no PMs look URL up) 4 page also on printed sheet. I then printed the 40 dollar coupon sent to me via email by Staples. I took this weeks sales flyer (4 those who asked that question it is Staples Ad from sunday's newpaper. Staples also has them sitting right next to their front door.) I got into my car and drove to the Staples Store (which is the B&M) NOT ONLINE. Once I got inside asked for the camera. Went to the check out when it was my turn I told the clerk she will need the Mgr's ok for sale. She page him. I told him I wanted a PM (Price match 4 those who asked) Gave him my copy of BC's website print out. He went to PC went to Beach Camera's site went thru the motions of ordering it until credit info pop up. Said fine for PM price is good and Beach Camera has it in stock. Next I handed him my 40 dollar coupon sent to me by Staples. 40 off 200 that is. He told the girl that was fine also. So she rang me up.
Came to 422.00 plus 6% tax in NJ.
So I filled out and mailed the 100.00 MIR (Kodak's Mail In Rebate)

That is how I got it for 322.00
I did not add the sales tax to my figure because each state will not be the same.

For those who asked 4 the SKU here is my post from LAST WEEK Thursday, March 15, 2001 12:46 AM IN THIS FORUM ! Look back about 30 posts.

<< Ok people I need a GOOD PM for Staples B&M . They have it listed in this coming weeks sales flyer. 599.98.... 499.98 after 100.00 MIR. SKU 453154 >>

Please no more PMs from people asking me to buy the camera and ship it to them. The answer is NO.

On another note BUY.COM does not have it listed anymore. Plus I have never seen there stock so LOW . Even in clearance it is getting bare. I will not order from them anymore cause it looks like that ship is going down.

Just got mine yesterday from PhotoAlley. Excellent! Registering with Kodak gets a free lens adapter ($25 value) from Kodak which was a pleasant surprise. Upgraded the firmware with no problems. This is great value. Now just need to send in the rebate.

Everybody got the 40 coupon in thier email. If u did not or DELETED it in error see posts in this forum to get it undeleted. Software like fatwallet, techbargins etc for recovering that email.

If someone finds the camera DELIVERED for less that 462.00 please let me know have only 12 days left on PP (Price Protection) from Staples.

Like to c 1 so I can get a smart card for my Rio 500 deal.( Now that was a nice freebie!) So sure like to c a 50 or more drop in price on that Kodak !

First Post. Saw this camera for $479 at Sams Club yesterday. There were no rebate slips around, but I'm sure it would be easy enough to get. Not the hottest price, but hassel free.
