Kobe VS MJ, I couldn't agree more.

Kobe Bryant is a little more gifted athletically than Michael Jordan was.

Sorry I stopped reading after that first sentence and without reading further say Kobe cant compare to Jordan in anyway IMO.

well, i think the media coverage these days w/ the internet and all is a lot more severe than it was in the 80's and 90's. back then, all you had is the TV. The internet can exploit every little thing, and people will discuss about it over forums and such, and that'll sway opinion. kobe's just living in a harsher world for celebs.

Yeah, the author maybe needs to re-evaluate Kobe. Kobe can't compare to Jordan on any level.

Maybe the author is a 14 year old who barely even knows who MJ is--at any rate, he needs to die in a fire because of this statement.

well no duh. Michael Jordan wasn't the best athlete ever to begin with. Of course we're going to see people taller, stronger, bigger, and better.

But they will never, EVER, be what michael jordan was. Because he's the best winner ever, period.

Jesus guys, RTFA, then comment. It's a damn good article.
P.S. Jordan > * in all ways, and sure the first line is debatably incorrect, but the rest of the article is spot on.

Agreed, when i started reading it I was like OMGWTFBBQ?!

Glad I read it though.

i think they mean present day Kobe is slightly more athletically able than present day jordan

a 20 yr old Kobe = 40 yr old Jordan

MJ was never and never will be any kind of hero to me, in fact I really didn't like him that much at all. But that doesn't take away from the fact that he was one of the best NBA players ever. There's no way you can even put him on the same level as Kobe, let alone say that he is only a little more gifted than MJ.

of course you can, because your two comments have nothing to do with each other. History is filled with proof that gift != greatness. There have been players more gifted than MJ in the past, and there will be in the future. The question is, why aren't they MJ, or better, if they're more gifted?

how is that retarded? even comparing Bryant in his prime to Jordan in his prime. Bryant is just as fast and a bit taller. In his more athletic days, Jordan's outside shot wasn't that developed either. It wasn't until age slowed him down that he moved almost exclusively to movement without the ball, catch and shoot or post up fadeaway.

Its been said before. Jordan is one of the best if not the best without the ball. Kobe is one of the best if not the best with the ball.

I agree with amoeba, it's not that far fetch to say kobe is more gifted than MJ, but I don't know if it's valid to say Jordan is one of the best without the ball ... if Kobe realizes that he needs odom's help, he'll be better than MJ.
